85% Ethanol fuel. Basically corn liquor mixed with some gasoline and other additives. At times like now it can be more economical that gas even though you get worse mileage.

Van get 22 MPG on regular gas at $3.49 a gallon means it costs 15 cents a mile.

get 18 MpG on e85 $2.29 means it's 13 cents a mile, slightly cheaper than regular gas.

There's also less emmissions and it will actually clean carbon deposits out of your motor.

But don't use it if your car is not designed to take it. Your gas cap will say "flex fuel" if you can use e85.

Thanks for learning me something today!

We borrowed a friend's car to take a day trip from his cabin to Denali NP one summer. We stopped on the way back and filled up his car, an elderly Subaru. We didn't realize that the pump was diesel; the nozzle fit fine in the gas tank unlike the diesel pumps do here.

We had to buy him a new engine. :(
