Disaster

Hey, Yurtsie - while you're on a "where are they now" tear, how about being consistent and calling out your own for the constant whinefest on this thread about the "librul media"?

Oh, yeah - because you're taking part in that. Never mind...

Poor Yurtsie.

Read Dixie's initial post again, Yurtsie. It was all about Bush the victim & not taking accountability for Bush. That's why I said Bush was rightfully criticized (which, interestingly, you seem to agree with in later posts).

And that's when you came in for the umpteenth time with your stomping around about why "we lefties" don't take Nagin & the locals to task as well. It's so predictable, and incredibily hackish. Too bad for you that Dixie's post was about Bush, and my response was about Bush.

this is why you're a hack and dishonest to boot....SF says the exact same thing to you and do you say he can't read? no. do you go off on this hack angry rant about him despite he said the same thing i did? no.

for whatever reason, you are incapable of rational debate, especially with me. you have such an issue with me you get all in a tizzy everytime you reply. you have this with a few other posters as well, but when SF says the same thing to you, you ignore it and focus on something else. because he is your buddy and you've known him a while.

its a pity you get like this every single time with me. hopefully one day you can't get over your personal issues and have a rational conversation.

and you're lying, dixie mention liberals in post 10...so once again you get busted but i know you won't admit it and will claim i started it. hack.

SF got sucked into your BS narrative; I actually have no doubt that if he went back & read the original comments, he'd realize it. I brought that up w/ him, same as I did w/ you the 1st time.

Whereas I told you to go back & read, and you still came back w/ the same BS. Ergo, reading issues.

amazing. you and your libs do nothing but blame bush for katrina. then when called out by others, you give scant lip service that yeah, nagin had some fault, and you of course keep ignoring the governor. you then even go so far as to claim bush had more responsibility because he is the president.

if you want to get into a whiny "where are they now" routine, go for it. but its dishonest. if you had any shred of decency it wouldn't bother that people righfully point out that the governor and nagin had responsibility as well. that is the TRUTH and it bothers you, so you go on your usual hack rants. why does the truth bother you?

Typical Yurtsie BS & hypocrisy. All a leftie has to do is whisper "Fox," and you're all over it, calling them whiners and saying we're all obsessed with Fox.

Whereas on this thread, you have no problem chiming in on the evils of the librul media - which is a constant theme of the right for well over a decade now...

thank you for proving my point. it couldn't be that anyone else read your comments that way, it must be because of YURT....yurt somehow controls everyone else's thinking when they say the same thing i do...

lmao, that is weak and pathetic....way to show what a dishonest hack you

:awesome:

and i did go back reread it, you clearly say bush had more responsibility and culpability...even threedee picked up on it

Maybe it's just me, but I hold Presidents to a much higher standard than Mayors; especially when everyone - including Bush - was saying for years what a great & decisive leader he was.

that ^ is your response to me saying the dems are at fault as well...you immediately say bush is more responsible because he is held to a higher standard than mayors...thus, we shouldn't really criticize mayors as much because they are held to a lesser standard. and of course you KEEP "forgetting" the governor. but she is a dem...so she doesn't count.

and once again you deflect and are actually doing a "where are they now" that you claim others do.

the fox issue is a completely different issue. you don't see the right making thread after thread about mundane mistakes fox pulled or some other shit. that is the issue, not that fox is bias, but the thread after thread after thread. the liberal media here did slander bush and you know it. that is a fact, but you don't see me making thread after thread.

why don't you calm down, count to 10 and get over your personal issues with me and start having a rational conversation.....mmmkay

When did you first call me out for not including the "lefty leaders"?

Uh huh. Thought so.

I brought up who we hold to a higher standard in response to your hijacking; probably bad judgment on my part, knowing how you twist stuff. But I stand by that. We do hold Presidents to a higher standard than Mayors.

Or do you disagree w/ that?
:)

Sure it is. Because you're a koolaid swilling right-wing hack.

That's why it's "different."

post 4 liar....dixie already brought up the issue in post 4, i merely expanded it

i didn't twist anything, others also agree with my view of what you said. and of course you can't rationally explain how your comment about holding bush to a higher standard is not minimizing nagin's culpability -- and once again, you leave out the governor LOL....you said that in DEFENSE of holding the governor and the mayor responsible. you can't spin your way out of this onceler.

you will lie and try, but you can't. you didn't even have the courage to take SF on when he called you on it because you won't get into these pissy hack rants with him because he is your buddy.

Oh, I should add...this comment?

"its a pity you get like this every single time with me. hopefully one day you can't get over your personal issues and have a rational conversation. "

Is pretty funny when you consider your first response to me on the thread.

What amazing hypocrisy...

not surprised you can't get passed your personal issues

tell us why you said bush is held to a higher standard in response to me saying that we need to also hold the mayor and governor responsible?

what reason did you say that? others have taken you to mean the mayor (you keep failing to mention the governor oddly, though no surprise she is a dem) is less culpable.

all you have to do is rationally explain yourself, no need to for the other ranting.

I said it because I hold Presidents to a higher standard than Mayors. Also than Governors.

Apparently, you don't. Now - why did you jump in on my initial response to bring up the local leaders, which I was clearly taking issue with Dixie portraying Bush as a victim?

that doesn't answer the WHY. it merely regurgitates your statement. i do not hold presidents to a higher standard than mayors or governors. each should be held to the highest standards of their office. you seem to be clearly stating that bush is MORE responsible because you hold him to a higher standard. else, there would be no reason for you make such a comment in response to holding the dem mayor and governor responsible. they are on the ground and have first responder responsibility. they are better equipped to handle the immediate dangers than the federal government. that is how our country operates. if you take an honest look at what happened, the bulk of the harm resulted from the local and state government wholly inadequate response. but in your world, presidents are held to a higher standard, thus seemingly indicating, presidents are more at fault for local issues.

bush has been victimized by the liberal media and people like you. sure, bush made mistakes, but nowhere near the amount of mistakes or harm that was caused by the local governments. its asinine the level of fault laid at bush's feet. dixie was correct, there was blood in the water and liberals took advantage of that disaster to smear bush. just look at your responses in the thread. you focus 99% on bush. you repeatedly forget to even mention the governor and you routinely downplay nagin except when cornered. all other times its bush, bush, bush and him being held to a higher standard.

Typical Yurtsie. I answer your question, and you won't answer mine.

And that was dizzying spin. You don't hold a President to a higher standard than a Mayor? Really?

Yikes...

can't you for two minutes leave the hack shit aside? what is your question? it didn't make sense, so i thought it was a rhetorical question. please clarify. and like i said, you really did not answer my question...nice try.

and why is it, i give you an honest answer as to standards, and you say it is spin? i guess you don't believe that a mayor or governor should be held the highest standards of their office. there is no higher standard for the president than a mayor or a governor. each has individual responsibilites related to their job and each should be held to the SAME high standard that each office carries.

tells alot that you think that is spin. yet you still can't explain why it is you feel the mayor and governor are less responsible because they are held to your lower standards....its like, well....they are dems, so of course they aren't as responsible.

My question was clear. Dixie's post can basically be distilled down to "Bush was a victim - liberals used Katrina to put him in a bad light." As it turns out, Dixie thought Bush went above & beyond for a Prez.

My response was that Bush was rightly criticized for Katrina, and made critical errors that exacerbated the situation.

So, up until now, the conversation is about Bush. Then, you coming stomping in with your "yer a hack!" and "why aren't you critizing the Mayor and Governor and other liberal leaders!"

I'm asking why you did that. Because, as I said, Bush was who was being discussed to that point. There actually isn't even anything in my post where I say Bush was ONLY to blame. Dixie said he was wrongfully criticized, and I said he was rightfully criticized.

I know full well that you won't comprehend this, but it's always worth a shot.

and yet you still haven't answered my question about why you RESPONDED about higher standards if you weren't putting more blame on bush. are you ever going to answer it? all you've done is regugitate your statement. you haven't said WHY you said and how it ties in to holding nagin and blanco responsible.

dixie's post is clearly about bush UNFAIRLY getting the blame....why is this...geeee....could it be because the left, like you, barely blames the governor or the mayor. that is why bush is the victim. when you said bush is fairly criticized, it became clear that this is yet another blame bush (as dixie indicated in post 4) and ignore the libs responsibility. to deny that this is just about bush is so dishonest its laughable. in order for bush to be a victim and unfairly criticized, there must necessarily be others and you know damn well dixie is talking about the libs getting a pass, whereas bush gets all the blame.

nice try onceler.

i wonder if you will now finally answer mine after whining i didn't answer yours.

Bush didn't "appoint himself" anything, moron! His response to Katrina was technically unconstitutional... did you know that? Yes, it's true, the constitutional requirement is for the state to "request" FEMA assistance and to have a national disaster declared by the federal government. The Federal government is not within its constitutional bounds to take any action unless and until the state makes such a request. However, with Katrina, the governor of the state delayed the request, even with the urging of the White House.... so Bush, three days before the hurricane made landfall, set a historical first, by proclaiming Louisiana and the Gulf Coast, a Federal Disaster Area. Never before in the history of our nation, had a president made such a declaration BEFORE the disaster! Now, you can argue that federal response was slow from that point, but federal response is ALWAYS slow, that's why we have state National Guards.

see how onceler ignore's dixie true comments in post 10 and what post 4 was about.....

he tries to pass it off on me, because of course he has irrational wood for me....so he ignores what dixie is really talking about

LOL. Look who is backpeddling furiously.

Just so you know, the correct answer is that it was idiotic for you to bring up the local leaders in the way you did after my response. If we were having a discussion on overall blame, and I had someone insinuated that ONLY Bush was to blame, maybe you'd have a case. But you don't; you did your usual stomping around, where is the left routine.

I answered your question. I hold Presidents to a higher standard than Mayors; the why is fairly obvious, I think. What more do you need to know?
