Dishwasher Noisy

My dishwasher broke so I bought a used dishwasher (only 10$). I was told it was noisy, but whatever I didn't care cause it's cheap and after I installed it, it does a great job cleaning but it's noisy as all hell.
All I know is the noise is coming from underneath from either the motor or some other part.

Has anyone ever had this problem or know how to fix it? I put insulation around it which helps but just a little.

I thought when the bearings are bad you have to replace the motor? Can you just replace bearings?

Not necessarily. Sometimes the bearing goes out on its own. Your motor is working, its one of those things that either works or doesn't work, and if the machine is spining, the motor's working. Usually replacing the bearing means a seal is worn out and must be replaced as well. You can do it yourself probably for around $60.

Sometimes putting stick up insulation like used on ductwork on the inside of the enclosure where the dishwasher goes helps a lot.
I got rid of my noisy old one and put in a BOSCH, not real cheap but super quiet and uses less water and electricity so it is green.

Dano powers his with a team of enslaved children in his basement.

Which reminds me.
Get back down there and start being a team player. And remember, blow the hot water into the dishwasher like you're an intern with Bill, you want these dishes to sparkle so you can eat your daily crow nice and freshlike.

I may end up buying new, that's what my wife wanted the whole time, but the one we had before I got for 50$ and it worked ok for 3 years.
Plus I have a very large expense coming up so I'm looking to save where I can.

He already has a dishwasher, aka Wife ;)
Butt then some of those are noisier than the electroc models...
Let her get a job and buy a new one.

running for cover now...

good point dano, she doesn't work let her do the dishes.

Don't they have a lot of kids? That's not "not working", guys.

The only snarky thing I have to say is that if Dano can't afford to buy a dishwasher, then he is even stupider than I thought, and that's saying a lot.

Poor Republicans are dumb. As rocks. Period.

I have to replace the septic tank and field, it's like somewhere around 20,000. I found this out last month. So yeah I'm trying to save. Too bad, because I was doing better, got a raise, and then this happens. Oh well, good thing I've saved before to pay for some of it and pay the rest of it by adding on to the mortgage.
It's probably really the only worse thing about living in the country, paying for the whole plumbing/drainage stuff yourself.

So what's up with lazypig, haven't heard any stories in awhile.
