This is a right-wing fever dream that I'm actually hoping for. If the Leftists take over the DNC, at least we'll have one major party that isn't full of puppets for the corporations.

Used to be only liberals and unions (same thing) who liked tariffs. People on the right supported free markets and free trade, what today we call economic liberalism. Now we have this new populism on the right who yell out against socialism yet have adopted the leftist position of tariffs and protectionism. Supporting free markets and trade now makes one a “globalist”.

The desire to depower and ultimately do away with nations is what makes one a globalist. They started their romp during the Reagan years.

Notice where our economy was in the ‘70’s and where it went after? And the free market folks in the Reagan administration were hardly trying to do away with nations.

You want to go back to 1930 and Smoot-Hawley. You a fan of those economic results?

I get tired of people who talk about "the economy" but ignore massively growing debt and also leave out growing wealth and power inequity.

America is massively bankrupt and is falling apart socially and most every other way as well...this economy is not working.....it has failed.

Anti-economic growth sounds pretty leftist to me. Cuba’s a great example of a country with no economic growth and a lot of equality. There’s a lot of equality because everyone is poor. Is that what we should desire here?

We have been leaving no stone unturned to chase growth for 40 years, and look at where it has gotten us.

Its time for a new idea.
