Do conservatives really care about Kirk, or his message?

NO. Just no. When someone looks at a black person and thinks they may be unqualified solely because they see they have black skin that isn't a critique of unfair hiring practices. That is pure unadulterated bigotry.

THE ONLY REASON they think that is because SOME people are put in their position because of the COLOR of their skin. Do you think Claudine Gay became President because the body of her work or by DEI. She checked off the female and Black box and they ignored her weak body of work and the fact that she plagiarized what little work that she did.
Just because someone is black does not ipso facto mean they are DEI or unqualified or whatever.
True Ben Carson is a case in point. The POINT is people don't know if their Black neurosurgeon is a Ben Carson or a Claudine Gay like DEI hire. .

You haven't spent any time working in industry, have you? Unqualified people get merit-promotions all the time. 99.999999% of them are white people. White men.
Not true.

The ranks of middle management are a giant spectrum of white male "competence", often skewing toward incompetence. (it's called The Peter Principle)

It is true not all white men are competent.
That sounds made up.

So why did you mention it? To prove your point is incorrect?

How about "not you".
It was a true story. I also had a Black girl in my med school class that did very well. She was in the top 10% but she got there by merit. She had a 3.9 GPA and a 51 MCAT. I know this because she was in our study group and was a close friend.

I also had a friend in medical school and now my former partner that was half Mexican (technically) although he was very white. His mother was from two Spanish parents from Spain. His mother was born in Mexico where her father ran a silver mine. Anyway I had a better GPA and MCAT than he did but Harvard sent him a invitation to interview and sent me nothing. He wanted to stay in Texas so he ended up at UT Southwestern where I went. He did get a full ride 4 year scholarship to med school because he was Mexican though. :rofl2:

I'm not sure why we're focusing on taking quotes from Kirk to try to "prove" something. He had his opinions. I disagree w/ many of the ones I've seen. He's allowed to express those & persuade people to his POV.

I've seen enough of him speaking at this point to know that there is no way he was advocating for homosexuals to be stoned, or anything like that. He had fairly strict Christian views, but millions of Americans do. I have my own issues w/ some of those views, but it doesn't mean the people I disagree w/ on that are bad people.

I'd love to see us stop actively LOOKING for reasons to hate each other. For the most part, we just disagree on certain things. We're a nation of 350 million. That's gonna happen, and it's fine.

So far you've shared two stories about black people: One in which a poorly qualified person did NOT get a position and the other in which a qualified person got there by merit.

So you have defeated your own point.

Half Mexican but very white. Sounds like you did a thorough analysis. Did you get to see their papers.

His mother was from two Spanish parents from Spain.

Ahhh, the WHITE people who speak Spanish. They're OK, right?

His mother was born in Mexico where her father ran a silver mine.

Oh my! A silver mine! That must add a couple of "white points" to the person. You know, to offset all the MEXICAN.

Anyway I had a better GPA and MCAT than he did but Harvard sent him a invitation to interview and sent me nothing.

Awwwwww. You didn't get a letter from Harvard and it's all because black people get everything and white people get nothing. Pobrecito.

Don't worry, Harvard doesn't have any white people....you wouldn't have felt at home there.

...because he was Mexican. Riiiiiiiiight. But he was only half-Mexican, right?

C'mon dude. Sometimes you just don't get your dream. Sometimes it's because you aren't actually as great as you think you are. It happens.

Lurch, like most others afflicted with TDS, have an aversion to anything that debunks their instilled beliefs due to liberal talking points. All of those out of context quotes have been debunked by the full quote, but like a good liberal, they ignore those so they can pretend that it doesn't exist
You understand that what Kirk said was conservative talking points.

Then I'm sure you'll be able to post a full quote and show us this so-called context.

Looks like you've got a long history of looking at people's skin color and making judgments based on it.

Wait a minute....
No one is actually comparing Rachel Maddow to Charlie Kirk.... Maybe I just imagined that...

Nothing personally. I'm saying that trump has a double standard. trump would treat the death of a liberal commentator with silence or some tepid comment about violence. He'd never put on a display like he's doing for Kirk. And conservatives would celebrate the liberal's death on social media.
Has he acknowledged the latest school shooting victims. I haven’t seen it.
