Most people who commit/attempt a massacre have little or no gun knowledge and get their guns on the fly "to go". If I had to guess, your statistics are probably considering suicide if it states gun deaths aren't due to no waiting period.

I like your point. America has a way of not understanding other cultures and treating them as a threat. Treating everyone the same due to acts of a few is basic ignorance and profiling. And I certainly hope if I travel I won't be profiled as an idiot American.
