Do you believe you have a right to not catch a virus?

"Freedom without obligation applies to many things. For example, many on the left demand an expansive welfare state without any job-related strings attached. They want the freedom to get income from the government without any responsibilities being applied to said money."

Please name them. Never heard that argument.

Andrew Yang for one. He supports a UBI without any particular requirements for seeking employment.

"Others demand that people should have the freedom to enter the country without any sort of screening process involved, whether it's with regard to a criminal record or disease."

Again, name those who argue that.

Anyone who argues for allowing sanctuary city policies to continue is making that argument unless they specifically state that affected people should be screened for disease or for their criminal record and that individuals who fail said screenings should be deported or detained.

So, take your pick on that one. Every single presidential candidate for the Democrats has supported the continuance of sanctuary city policies.

Andrew Yang is one person. We will never hear from him again.

I don't support the idea of sanctuary cites.

Yang is far from the only advocate of UBI. To be fair, I'm actually in favor of a UBI, but only if it involves getting rid of the existing welfare state. As a program alone, it would be cheaper and more efficient than the current system, as long as the amount given out per person is reasonable.

I'm glad we agree on sanctuary cities, but the mainstream position of the Democratic party is now favorable towards them. The same is true for their stance on giving amnesty and typically citizenship to illegals.

We're light years away from guaranteed income. The $1200 checks are an unprecedented anomaly.

On immigration, neither party has a rational policy.

To an extent, I hope you're right about the bolded, but I have my doubts on that.

The government is always eager to bail out corporations, so it doesn't take much encouragement to get them to bail out individuals as well. Frankly, I'd rather we do more of the latter and less of the former.
