Mott the Hoople
Sweet Jane
Hmm, still no one with an IQ over 50 has voted yes. Interesting.
You'll discount anything that doesn't agree with your agenda of apologism.
As for WMD's, you know that was the excuse that was sold to the public. Paul Wolfowicz can admit that...why can't you?
Your apologism for Bush truly sickens me. Hold the man accountable for his actions & decisions. It will be liberating for you, and you won't have to twist your mind into circles trying to cover for him.
We now have the Bush Doctrine.
Which is to invade a sovern nation based on what they may possibly do.
Kinda goes against US principles....
Who believed he had WMD ?
Do you know anything about the dozens of UN resolution passed against Saddam ?
Do you know how many nations made up the coalition against Saddam ?
Who indeed....
Do you know that Clinton bombed the shit our of Iraq's troops in 1993 and again in 1998 ?
Who indeed.....
The 'Bush Doctrine" is a creation of the media.....and means different things to different people
In FACT, it is fiction and has nothing to do with Bush.....Bush never claimed a Bush Doctrine that I know of.
Cheney uttered the phase once and never again in eight years.
You mean the coalition of the bribed, bullied and blind?
GEORGE Bush has made great play of the "coalition of the willing" - 30 countries who support his war on Iraq. But who are they and what are their real motives? The Daily Mirror put Bush's allies under the microscope and found a coalition of the bribed, bullied - or those simply blind to the truth. It contains some of the poorest, newest and smallest countries on the planet. This show of support has been stitched together by bullies in Washington dangling massive bribes in front of countries which depend on financial support from other nations. And the desperate attempt by the US to make its present coalition resemble the alliance of 34 nations which contributed tens thousands of troops in the last Gulf War in 1991 is unraveling.
Interesting perspective Christie....
The Vietnam War only had United States, Australia, New Zealand, and South Korea. A coalition of 4....all are included Iraq and Afghanistan....bullied and blind, huh....
Dixie and Obama don't matter ....
It isn't the point that he didn't have WMD
.....Congress believed otherwise....Bush believed otherwise....the UN believed otherwise.....an entire coalition of some
40 or more countrys believed it.....
you of all people should get the point, huh, counselor....?
Not only that but common sense dictated that the threat presented by Iraq did not arize to our traditional standard of "A Clear and Present Danger" to our national security. If anything good did come out of the sacrifices our armed forces made in Iraq is that the policy of preemption was thoroughly discredited. Though I'm of the opinion that that certainly wasn't worth the cost in blood and treasure.Anyone who was not blinded by political interest knew better. I knew better. All you had to do to know better was to listen to the way the Bush Administration carefull parced the words they used.
They are heros because they did what is required for a strong and free nation, they fought without question. It was the American voter who failed here... not the Iraq Vet.Not only that but common sense dictated that the threat presented by Iraq did not arize to our traditional standard of "A Clear and Present Danger" to our national security. I feel horrible for Iraq veterens. They should have never been put in that situation. God bless them one and all.
That's what TR said a long time ago. There was a great article on CNN a few weeks back that was essentially "The Dixie Chicks were right."
And they were, as was every other protestor & war opponent who, by exercising their right to express dissent, were called traitors & terrorist sympathizers.
It's a good lesson, and one that shouldn't be forgotten. Dissent isn't just a right - it IS patriotic.
Agreed! Don't forget they still need our support even though the Iraq war is over. We can't permit a repeat of what happened to Nam vets. They are heros because they did what is required for a strong and free nation, they fought without question. It was the American voter who failed here... not the Iraq Vet.
Bush did not make the decision. He announced the decision made by Cheney and Rumsfeld and others.
Dissent isn't just a right - it IS patriotic.

Unless you disagree with this president you mean
Dissent isn't always partiotic, but it never makes you a traitor.
