You might think it would "only" be an 80% drop, but in reality because many goods require at least one foreign input at some stage, it would be more like a 99% reduction in our standard of living.

The vast majority of illegal aliens came to the USA before 2010(more than 10 years ago), so if citizenship took 10 years, they would mostly be US citizens nearly immediately.

There is a real problem here that these are people with deep roots in America. Their families are US citizens. Sometimes they barely speak their original language. And they have often lost their previous citizenship.

The border is secure, so that is not the problem. People are presenting at the border, not fully crossing the border. The courts are so backed up, that we cannot even decide who is who... And Republicans are against putting the resources into the courts to not have them backed up.
