Does anyone here belive McCain can win tonight?

Man you'd be surprised how many people have told me they are buying bread, milk, and ammo for tonight. You'd think Hurricane Obama was coming or something.

I had a PoliSci major look me in the eyes with a straight face and tell me that he was going to prepare to stockpile supplies for when the riots started.

I love it. We endure Bush winning an illegitimate victory in 2000, and then somehow getting re-elected in '04 - 8 FULL YEARS of this retard, and suddenly, when it looks like a Democrat might finally get elected, all of the talk from the right is about bunkers, ammo, revolution & Mad Max....

you laugh, but i was serious when i said that i'm scared of what the seniors are going to do when mccain loses. i live too close for comfort to one of those senior complexes. i'll be sleeping with one eye open tonight.

LOL

I had a great moment today walking in to vote. Some old white senior citizens were coming out of the polling place talking to each other.

I heard one say "Well we voted, so at least we can't be blamed for whatever happens."

And I smiled.

I would be lying if I said I wasn't concerned or uneasy about an Obama presidency. I do not think in terms of riots, bunkers and such. I am just uneasy. I hope he governs better than what my gut says he will but I am still uneasy. And yes, I have stockpiled ammo, not because I fear riots but because the price of ammunition will go up significantly when Obama is elected.

Darla you must have read the article about the cops finding all the guns in the crippled guys wheelchair ?

For the sake of argument, let's look at something objectively here...

If you were a Hillary supporter, you support the party but not necessarily the candidate your party selected, and there is a chance Hillary could run in 2012 but 2016 would be stretching the limits a bit, and you are trying to envision a scenario where she might be eventually elected... how would you go about it? Hillary needs for Obama to lose and McCain to win, in order for her to have a shot in 2012. But you can't come out and oppose your party candidate and support 'the enemy' because this would completely destroy your credibility. So how can you help McCain win this time, so Hillary can run in 2012? ....Think about it really hard, pinheads!

Is it remotely possible, a large number of Hillary supporters have tepidly supported Obama, told pollsters they plan to vote for Obama, or claim to be undecided, but will vote for McCain when the curtain is closed? In most of these key battleground states, Obama leads by a very small margin, mostly within the 'margin of error' and the percentage of Hillary voters in those states, are more than enough to secure a win for McCain. Given the obvious fact they can't come out and campaign for McCain, what better way to sabotage Obama, than to pretend they are going to vote for him, or that they have not yet decided?

Hillary Clinton voters are not your typical Barack Obama voters, they differ too much on policies, they are actually more in line with John McCain than Obama. As I said, they can't really go on the stump for McCain, how would that look? They have to maintain 'support' for their party, while secretly hoping Obama loses to McCain, so Hillary will have a shot in 2012. Call it crazy, dismiss it as kookiness, I think it's a very real possibility.

Look at the polling data.... When Hillary still had a chance at winning, it was essentially split three ways, McCain, Obama, and Hillary, all had about the same amount of support. Hillary is eliminated, not even picked as VP, and McCain picks Palin. We know for a fact, Palin delivered a large amount of hard core conservative support to McCain, but when all was said and done, Obama has a slight lead in the polls... How did that happen? Well, there are two possibilities, one is the scenario I just laid out, the other is to presume that all Hillary supporters just rolled over and went for Obama. Which is crazier?

LoL Dixie.

Give it up.

Tell me where my idea is flawed? Tell me why this isn't possible?

The PUMA's (Party Unity My Ass) have their own website! I have to think it's more than a small handful of Hillary supporters behind it. Look at the polls, they all show an unusually large percentage of "undecided" voters... how the fuck could you be "undecided" in THIS election? I mean, yeah... mayyybe 2% are so brain-dead they can't make up their minds... but not 8%, 9%, 10% are really "undecided" ...they are definitely "decided" on who they will vote for, they just don't want to say. Now, why would a McCain supporter not want to say they are voting for McCain... Why would an Obama supporter say it, for that matter? Well, if you are a Democrat who wants Hillary to run in 2012, you just might not want to say you are planning to vote for John McCain... makes sense to me.

I belvie the Palin pick is exactly why Dixie's idea will not happen.

The women I know who were supporting Senator Clinton were offended by Palin being chosen. The contrast between the two women is stark. The women I know would be disappointed by Palin being the first President or Vice President over Senator Clinton.

This from the guy who believes the First Amendment regulates individuals and not the government.

By God I think Dixie has cracked it! Hillary Clinton is going to win this thing! Won't the elite media be flabbergasted?

No Duhla. I didn't say Hillary would win, I don't think that is possible. It is indeed possible she could run against McCain in 2012, if Obama loses. I know if a dumb redneck hick like me can figure that out, those super-intelligent liberal Hillary voters have. Dontcha think?
