Ummm. He clearly states that no state should, only that it would be, in his opinion, constitutional.

The reality: Even Rick Santorum doesn't think they should be illegal. He does believe that he shouldn't be forced to pay for them because it is against his free exercise of religion.

The reality: plenty of people on the so-called Christian right believe contraception should be illegal. Santorum may not be one of them (I believe he is), but he certainly wants to enable them.

No, he clearly indicates that no state should and that he is not arguing for that. What he is arguing is what he believes the constitution has to say on it. Since it is not a power listed to the feds he believes that states or individuals would have that decision.

That's a slippery slope! Santorum shouldn't be forced to pay for abortions, I shouldn't be forced to pay for the murder of innocents abroad and so on! Where does that kind of thinking end? Can anyone refuse to pay because of their particular religious beliefs?

When I read Jarod's tripe, I actually fear for his clients.

But, to answer the question, I don't know any serious person who calls for birth control to be banned.

I do know people who comment on the negative effects of birth control pills, of which their are many.

What many people oppose is being forced to pay for someone else's birth control pills AND any situation where minors can get them without parental notification.

While war powers are part of the listed powers of the Executive and the Federal government religion is specifically not. So, yeah, you can be forced to pay for wars, the SCOTUS has not yet ruled on whether a religious institution can be forced to simply go directly against their doctrine yet. My guess is they'll rule in favor of the centralized government as they always seem to.

I have never heard that argument; I have seen valid arguments that minors should not have "legal" access to them without a patents permission. Is that what you are speaking of? And who insets "like" in the middle of a sentence? Are you, like, a Valley girl/dude? Like, wow man!
