Does Everyone Have The Nerve To Shoot a Gun?

I don't know why I do this. I know no one here is actually interested, it's all about the agenda. The Gun Agenda.

But I guess I talk to myself anyway, I know I do in the office, so, here you go for anyone interested in the actual devastating facts about women and guns (which I understand is no one).

http://www.feministe.us/blog/archives/2013/03/20/the-domestic-abusers-lobby/

Bravo! Fucking bravo! I'm going to share that article with someone...

The article does not mention anything about women who get guns after leaving the abusive husband. Once they move out, then having a gun on hand is more likely to help them than hurt them if they are trained on how to use it. Unless of course the woman was not willing to use the gun if confronted... which given their history, I can understand.

Your stupidity is absurd. Believe it or not, we don't live in a magical wild wild west culture where people dismiss the ramifications of shooting a gun at someone else. There's more rational people out there than George Zimmermans.

Case in point: Someone very, very close to me, I'd be comfortable calling her my best friend, has lived with a man for thirteen years. He consistently gets drunk and high and beats the shit out of her. It's not the first time either...I know of three other incidents in the past two years where he's abused her. Like many women, she's scared. She's scared to leave him, she's scared to file charges, she's scared of the power he holds over her.

The last incident, about four months ago, a neighbor called the police when he was tearing up the circle where we live with his truck after he beat her. He was arrested for that and when they saw the bruises on her, they arrested him for battery. He's currently on pre-trial probation for that and other charges.

Two nights ago he did it again. What did he beat her with? A GUN.

Thanks to Florida laws, the police say they won't do a thing. She's scared to file charges.

She's stuck with this guy running loose. And there's two guns in the house the police are aware of.

I am literally scared shitless this nutcase is going to kill her.

So before all you gun freaks start preaching going Rambo, remember a majority of Americans, 90%, aren't like you and want gun safety control.

So what we can learn from the above...

1) You are an attention whore who started another thread on the very same topic we are already discussing in the other thread. You then repost part of the discussion from that thread... why? So we have two threads to say the same thing in?

2) I stated clearly that if a woman was unwilling to use the gun, she would be worse off having one. Then you attack me for pretending everyone would use it if need be. Thanks for your dishonesty.

3) My comment that you quoted was not about a woman who is still living with her husband, but one that has already left. So thanks again for being dishonest.

4) You are a coward. If you know she is being abused, you know she is scared to leave him and you are her friend... get her the fuck out of there. Don't stand by and do nothing.

FUCK OFF.

YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHAT I'VE DONE TO HELP HER. FUCKING PIG.

You are scared to death for her safety, yet she is still living with him... that tells me you haven't done enough. A friend would get her the fuck out of that situation... one way or another.

You really are an ignorant mother fucker, aren't you?

What part of SHE'S TOO SCARED TO LEAVE do you not get?

What part of 'if she is too scared to do it, you need to resolve it' do you not get?

Or are you going to wait until it is too late? You said you feared for her life, yet she is still there... and so is he.

Some fucking friend you are. Your best friend and you stand by and do nothing? You pussy scumbag. Too scared to mess up your manicure?

With friends like you no wonder she doesn't feel safe to leave.

WOW! It is one thing for you to prance your deviant behavior around with your incessant trolling. But this? WOW!

How would one do that being she is an adult. Would you kidnap her? One way or another, what does that mean?

Hogwash, the poll consisted of only 1,711 registered voters from Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Florida, Ohio, and Virginia. This hardly captures the majority of Americans.

What would you recommend? Just hope he doesn't kill her?

You can recommend counseling, you can plead and beg the victim to leave, I have even endangered myself and stayed with the victim, but in the long run, it is the victim who has to make the decision to leave and seek help. You cannot force them to do anything against their will.

All of which I've done. And more. What I don't need are board trolls like SF judging me for something beyond my ability.

I definitely agree with you last sentence. It works the same with those who have alcohol, drugs, gambling etc. problems. Maybe I listen to too much rap music but I believe the phrase 'i'd rather be judged by 12 than carried by 6'. I'd want to protect myself if I were her.

Howey, Superfreak and Cawacko are very lucky to never have had a friend or family member involved in domestic violence. It is a horrible situations for the abused and their friends and family. There are times when nothing anyone does can save them, other than killing the abuser. Then the victim had better make absolutely sure this was their only recourse because there are a lot of people in jail for shooting their abusers.

I wasn't referring to wacki. I don't consider him anywhere near a troll. SF? 100%.

I can only imagine what happens on a typical Friday in that house.

Husband comes home drunk beats the wife
Neighbors call the cops
Cops show up and see her with marks and bruises and arrest him for domestic abuse.
She goes down to the jail the following day and bails him out, does not files charges because she loves him.

Calls Howey to ask for help and he says sorry, I don't want to get involved.

He obviously hasn't gone to the Police and given evidence against the guy, or else the guy would have been ordered to vacate the premisses and they both would have to appear before the Judge.

She is terrified to leave. You show her how you will protect her if she leaves. You assure her that she will be safe in doing so and detail how you will assure that. You don't just leave a woman in a situation where you fear for her life.

If that doesn't work... the guy would have an accident.
