I don't think they can, can they? After all, if Kavanaugh is not competent to sit on the Supreme Court, how can people with a record of high school shenanigans be trusted to be legislators?

Obviously not. The left is generally OK with such youthful indiscretions. However, I suspect you're thinking in terms of Kavanaugh. What the left objects to isn't that he had a few beers when he was younger -- nor even that he willfully broke the law to drink while underage, nor that he sometimes drank to such excess as to become ill. It's the evidence that he was a problem drinker, who is alleged to have committed repeated acts of serious sexual misconduct while drunk, as well as other violent acts. It's also that he was dishonest and evasive when asked about these things during the hearings.
I've not seen any "evidence" of anything you've accused him of. Show us.
Did you see Ford's testimony? If you're claiming not to have seen any evidence of anything I've accused him of, then I'd have to conclude no. In that case, start there.

Would you take the same view about Kavanaugh's perjury? As a reminder, under oath he claimed all four people she identified as being at the party had sworn they weren't there. That is untrue and he knew it was untrue. Should he be jailed for five years?
