Yeah I forgot about that!

i want you to think about this then, the mere accusation is enough to remove a right. this hardly sounds 'liberal' but authoritarian. you are no liberal. i think you're an authoritarian in disguise.LOL
I already answered your questions. You have since asked them three times, "to be clear". My answers remain the same. Your my penis is bigger than yours thing won't work with me. Try it on one of the guys, they can usually be goaded.![]()
I still can't believe Dixie has friends, let alone a liberal woman friend.
So basically, you told her you think the government should regulate her uterus, and you're surprised that she was offended? Wow, okay.
Why is it, we can't sit down like reasonable people, and find a rational compromise?
I am never going to believe that it is perfectly okay for women to have the right to end human life whenever they choose.

There already has been a compromise. It's known as Roe v. Wade. Most Americans are comfortable with this compromise, which permits abortion within the first trimester.
I don't necessarily disagree with you. But, to quote the late Harry Browne, "Given the results of the government's War on Poverty and the War on Drugs, we can assume that a War on Abortion will lead within five years to men having abortions."
You agree that the government doesn't work when it comes to reducing poverty. But you think they'll do an alright job of reducing abortions, without infringing upon women's privacy?
A lot of trailer trash righties lose it when woman call then on thier ass lien stance.
I think you better go check up on the law, bud. Abortions are being performed on fetuses as they exit the womb! In fact, Obama backed an infanticide bill which would have permitted doctors to terminate a baby AFTER birth, if it happened to pop out before they could abort it. And most people AREN'T comfortable with Roe v. Wade, that's why it's such a firebrand issue. It's about evenly split, half of us are okay with Roe, half of us are not.
Compromise is not: you get to have all the abortions you want, at any stage you please, and pro-lifers can sit in the corner and shut the fuck up about it.
I think abortion is a terrible and unfortunate thing. I wish we lived in a more advanced society, and could implement some approach like Damo has presented, but we don't. It bothers me that we are killing about a million babies a year, and half of America has no problem with it. I don't want government to reduce abortions, I don't care what government does, I want the PEOPLE on both sides, to respect each other's different opinions, and work together toward some compromise. Something where we aren't just performing abortions for the sake of vanity and convenience, but it's a much more serious matter, with criteria which have to be met, and the understanding this is termination of human life. If we ever get to that point, I will be satisfied. I will still not condone or approve of abortion, but I could live with this sort of a compromise.
I'm for sensible gun control. I'd rather not see people on the terrorist watch list, and those with a history of domestic violence (you know, like your buddy Zimmerman), stalking, violent crimes, etc, be able to get guns. They should not be able to. That's obvious to anyone who is not a nutter.
As for concealed carry laws, I live in NY, and I like it that way. You live in Texas, knock yourself out. I could give a shit. Don't try and shove your Texas values down my throat, and I'll return the favor. I avoid red states like the plague anyway.

I don't know where you heard this stuff......I'm pretty sure abortion in the US is the "abortion on demand" style.....up to an including partial birth abortion.....
thats hardly first trimester stuff....
Its is the law and we live with the law...it is the way it is........what I find repulsive is that its most ardent supporters refuse to admit what the procedure does in scientific reality......kill an ongoing life in its early development.....
We allow it, but we should not lie about what it is we are doing just to make it more acceptable........
You're talking about allowing abortion only in the case of rape, incest & a threat to the life of the mother. That ain't no kind of compromise.
As was said, we have a compromise, and it's a good one - Roe.
My wish to the universe, that you come back as a woman.
No, we don't have a compromise. And I am not necessarily talking about JUST rape and incest, or threat to mother's life. I am okay with allowing any woman to get an abortion during the first trimester, if they undergo some sort of counseling and have to adhere to some kind of waiting period. I just think this needs to be treated as a much more serious issue than it currently is. After all, we are ending a human's life, shouldn't we do this with the greatest of deference?
