Don't blame Limbaugh for our faults

I thought spurt had the gayest post ever here. Until isaw southernwife beaters vomit.
The commish thinks Rush is a racist. The commish and southernman are on the opposite ends of the class scale.

The Commissioner's comments about Limbaugh:
“I have said many times before that we are all held to a higher standard here,” Goodell said. “I think divisive comments are not what the NFL is all about. I would not want to see those kind of comments from people who are in a responsible position within the NFL. No. Absolutely not.”

Debbie Schlussel about these comments:

I find that interesting because, as I’ve noted on this site, Venus and Serena Williams are part owners of the Miami Dolphins. Serena Williams recently swore at a U.S. Open line coach and essentially threatened her life, saying she’d shove something up the woman’s throat. And no-one seems to be concerned that she’s an NFL part owner. Venus Williams recently defended the United Arab Emirates’ apartheid policies against Jews with Israeli passports, when the Dubai Tennis Championships refused to allow Israel’s Shahar Pe’er to play in the tournament or even a visa to enter the country.

So, I guess anti-Semitism and death threats are A-Okay for NFL part-owners. But being conservative is not. And, as I’ve also noted previously, NFL Pittsburgh Steelers owner Dan Rooney openly supported Barack Obama during the campaign and is now Ambassador to Ireland for it. Since almost half the country voted for John McCain, that’s divisive. And we can’t have division in the NFL, so time for him to go.

Oh, and while we’re at it, since Goodell is into fake orthodoxy and phony indignation, maybe he shouldn’t be NFL Commissioner. After all, his wife is FOX News Channel’s Jane Skinner..."

I'll agree with Schlussel long before I agree with a guy like you, Topspin, who attacks my wife and daughter with your sexually disgusting comments.

About what I guessed.

In the same transcript Limbaugh states that "Ladanian Tomlinson is the classiest player in the NFL...".

So? Do you think a racist can never compliment a member of the victim race? I bet he thinks they make such cute babies, has black friends and would even let them use his bathroom.

As noted before Rush surely has little room to talk about being classy.

What is obvious is that he's comparing Tomlinson's sportsmanship with the unsportsmanlike behavior of many other NFL players.

Huh? So, which one, the Bloods or Crips, represent LT's behavior?

He compliments Brady and Belichick too, but does not say "the NFL all too often looks like a game between Irish and Croatian mobs."

Frankly, I think it's pretty stupid too compare the celebrations to violent crime, but he does it and does it in a clearly racist manner.

Dude, the Bloods and Crips are some of the most famous gang names in popular lexicon; you can't expect a radio host to use a phrase like "Irish and Croatian mobs." In fact had to look it up to see if these gangs are black. It turns out that they are merely predominantly black.

You failed to make your case, but I predict you'll continue to label Limbaugh and other conservatives that you disagree with racist, since it helps you to avoid having to defend your political points of view.

All this is, is a witch-hunt.

Please, because the "Ickey Shuffle" or Gastineau's sack dance are so very analogous to violent crime rings. And TO, I mean have you ever seen a guy that's more "gangsta?"

There is one reason he used the analogy and you damn well know what it is. He knew what it was, which is why he followed it with "There, I said it."

Thanks for the entertainment, though.

In other words, you have no basis for your accusation. Zero, zip, nada.

I gave you my basis, he used a racially charged statement and stereotype too make it appear that it is a black thing. What else is his reason for using that term? You have not even bothered to answer why you think he may have felt the need to use it.

Again, is it because, the Ickey Shuffle looks like the act of a violent criminal? Is it because TO is a menacing character? TO makes me think of some spoiled brat rather than street criminal. Even though he is a fine athlete, I get the feeling I could take him. Now, Dick Butkus, he's scary (even at his advanced age). But people like Rush likely celebrate his ultra-violent play while comparing a black person doing a dance to criminals. Why on earth would they make the comparison other the simple and obvious answer, race?

Again, you have failed to make a response on why that was necessary to his point. You know the reason.

You're comparing apples to oranges, Butkus' athleticism to these guys' childish taunts.

My comparison of ultra violent play to violent criminals is far more apt, than Rush's apples to oranges comparison, of celebrations to violent criminals. Well, if that were the comparison he was making, which it is not.

You are evading the question. Please, tell us why that statement was necessary?

Again, you're comparing apples to oranges, Butkus was an individual, and his violence was limited to the play. Rush is referring to gang behavior outside of the actual play.

WTF are you talking about? Celebrating is gang activity? Was it gang activity when Gastineau started the sack dance? How about when Babe allegedly called his shot?

You cite examples of individualism as gang behavior? Dude do you know what the definition of "gang" is?

Why are you so afraid to give a straight answer? Why did Rush need to make that comment? What was the point of that comment?

He makes money as a commentator, therefore he comments on things. What's the point of your comment?
