Liar · Three Dog Night

"Liar"

I won't ever leave
If you want me to stay
Nothing you could do
That could turn me away

Hanging on anyway
Believing the things you say
Being the fool

You've taken my life
So take my soul
That's what you said
And I believed it all

I want to be with you
Long as you want me to
But don't move away

Ain't that what you said?
Ain't that what you said?
Ain't that what you said?

Liar
Liar, liar

We have seen no night
We have seen no day
If I ever leave
Would you want me to stay?

You can believe in me
I won't be leaving
I won't let you go

Ain't that what you said?
Ain't that what you said?
Ain't that what you said?

Liar
Liar, liar
Liar

You've taken my life
So take my soul
That's what you said
But who are we to know?

I want to be with you
Long as you want me to
But don't move away

Ain't that what you said?
Ain't that what you said?
Ain't that what you said?

Liar
Liar, liar

There's something about this song that I like and it has nothing to do with the lyrics, which I never looked up until maybe a month ago.

Years ago, I was listening to a favorite radio show, Solid Gold Saturday Night with Dick Bartly and I called in this song request and he chose not to play it because, I think he thought I had been lied to and was working out my angst or something.

Really, I just dig the tune and the arrangement.

LOL

Ditto for this song and with the video of Lovey, Ginger and Mary Ann dancing to it and them being castaways and the group's name being "The Castaways," well, this is a freaking HOME RUN!

Liar, Liar - The Castaways (1965)

Misty Blue · Dorothy Moore

I was the lead cash register guy at our fast food place and I was on the bus going somewhere when one of the Mexican custodian workers, also like me, in his middle 20's, got on and he was singing this song and was in a state of romantic reverie over a girl who also worked at our store. Well, unbeknownst to him, I was also sweet on her and to this day, I still feel irked that she 'entertained' him before me!

But I must say that he took it better than I did when, months later, she and I broke up.

Oh well...
