there is a way to institute and insure the largest reduction in illegals, "that costs little" but republicans/ democrats have not allowed that to happen for different reasons. the way is simple, any company or person caught employing a illegal will be fined a very large fine for each person employed, repeaters will be have double fines, no courts involved the fines will be issued and will be paid no exceptions. if illegals can't work they won't come. if you rent to a illegal you will be fined. if you sell a car to a illegal you will be fined..this will require a system that can be used to verify a complete list of valid social security numbers with photos. screw the walls they don't work period, when I say big fines I mean big if you don't make them big nothing will work, the bigger the company the larger the fines.

Agreed, the fines and penalties for business owners, landlords, etc should be made so onerous that they will no longer consider it merely a "cost of doing business", but will actually damage their interests severely.

You must have missed my earlier points from similar threads: the corporate wing of the GOP is as culpable as the democrats, but at least there are elements of the republicans - what I call the True Conservatives - who recognize that this is a false bargain, that cheaper prices at the grocery store are being subsidized by massively higher taxes for welfare, schooling and other benefits for the illegals.

I have been a proponent for decades to eradicate the corporate/pro-Fortune 500 wing of the GOP, which is a cancer little better than the democrats, as far as the US is concerned.
