Drunken Dem spending...

Guy, the title of your thread is "Dem Drunken Spending." In order to write something that obtuse you have to ignore everything I mentioned above. It's not up for debate, regardless of the names that you call me.

Get your panties out of a bunch... the title of the thread was mocking Obama for his 1,000,000th recital of 'I inherited the deficits from Bush'

Fuck off. You're wrong on the numbers. Accept it and move on.

Oh poor little hack... are you gunna cry because I was mean by asking you to actually produce the data that supports your position that MY numbers are wrong? Are we just supposed to take your word for it? Either provide the numbers or shut your fucking ass.

He did.

You would think that someone so well-versed on government spending, revenues, outlays and deficits should be able to dig up historical budget tables without any problem. Apparently not.

Such a good little hack... toeing the party line no matter what. Your ignorance on this thread is quite amusing.

and you would think a person like you would just provide the link to the data in the first place rather than shouting 'fuck off' and crying in the corner.

Right. My ignorance. 2000 - 2006 never happened and the policies of that period have no impact on the present. Got it.

I've probably posted that link eleventy billion times. It grows tiresome, particularly with people like you that really ought to know where to find such data.

Obama inherited deficits that were approved and voted in by those who hold the purse strings, the Congress. That Congress was a Democrat Congress. He should not be so willing to throw his own party under the bus that way.

It's fairly disingenuous to suggest that the deficits of the Bush years started due to measures taken by the 2006 - 08 Congress....

We've got that covered. 2000-2006 never happened and the policies from that period have no impact on the years that followed up to and including the present. Also, although the budgets approved by Congress for FY08 and FY09 had the same total spending as the budget proposed by the Bush Administration, Congress is solely responsible for that spending.

Try to keep up, hombre.

It is also disingenuous to suggest that the Congress of 2006 to 2008 had nothing to do with it.

*poke*

2006 to 2008 "never happened" eh? No impact whatsoever?

I'm more than happy & comfortable giving the Bush admin the lion's share of the credit, for starting the Iraq War, passing energy & transportation bills (as well as others) prior to 2006 that were laden with pork & excess spending, and for having a VP who said deficit spending doesn't matter.

They fostered a culture of fiscal irresponsibility, imo, which was a stark contrast from the Clinton years....

I agree that we've been fiscally irresponsible, and I will point out that there is no end in sight as long as we let the current Administration blame anybody but the people who put forward budgets.

I think freak has a great point. How bout he says the deficiet Bush, congress and myself passed on to my administration.

the amusing thing is, the only "fiscally responsible" government we have had was in the Gingrich years.....and you boys made him leave because he taught a class on fiscal responsibility in government.....

Both the Congress & the admin deserve credit, for at least TRYING to balance the budget, and act in a fiscally irresponsible way.

Your whipping boy Clinton was the one who said "the era of big government is over" (he couldn't foresee the Bush admin, apparently), and your whipping boy Gore was the one who started the "reinventing gov't" project, which was making headway on ideas to eliminate & reduce bureaucratic waste, before the Bush admin completely abandoned it....

GLASS STEAGALL... its removal caused far more damage... so tell us again about the great Clinton.

We all know who controlled the budgets in the late 1990's. Those same Republicans who passed the Bush Budgets in 2002-2007. What we have learned is that when one party controls all three houses... fiscal irresponsibility reigns supreme... regardless of who is in control.

Yes. He was part of that Congress and voted for these things. We hear how Bush should have been shouting warning from the rooftop about FM & FM... Where was Obama about this?
