One of my hospice guys (I am a hospice volunteer) is 99 years old. He has a nightly beer plus a shot or two of a good brandy. He wants his food slathered with butter, and I mean *slathered.* Yet his mind is still sharp, he speaks two languages fluently and two others passably. He lost his beloved wife four years ago; their marriage lasted longer than you and I have been on Earth. He's trying to teach me some Estonian; I'm trying to teach him some Ojibwe.
