Ed Schultz Flips Out Over Rush - Jokes About Rush's Hearing Problem

That might be equitable if Rush put out ads in support of some GOP legislation that might, after zillions of years of research, bring a resolution to his deafness, and while doing it removed the outside portion of his cochlear implant so that his deafness was obviously more pronounced.

Otherwise this is whining.

When MJ Fox took extra medication and then put his illness on display for political purposes he opened himself to that criticism.

Of course I really don't care if Ed makes fun of Rush's deafness and I doubt not that 60 Million dollar contracts tend to make it so such criticism falls on "deaf" ears... ;)

So you contention is that Michael Fox was faking or exagerrating his symptoms? Okay.

You do not understand the disease if you think it is the symptoms.

The medication makes the movements we now associate with the disease, by over medicating his movements become more pronounced and, yes, exaggerated.

oh, okay. thanks for the clarification. I think. I thought you were saying he intentionally took more meds, for visual and political effect.

That was Rush's claim, and later MJ Fox did say he was over medicated during that ad.

I think that it isn't that much of an "egregious" crime to talk about a political ad and the process that made it. Pretending that it was an attack on the disease is just a straw man.

Rush is in the public eye and gets constant "attacks". Even constant myth-slinging like "His drug use caused his deafness." (I posted a link earlier to dispel that myth.) And, as I said before, his 60 Million Dollar contract tends to make me less than sympathetic. If he's not big enough to handle these "attacks" himself then he's way overpaid.

MJ Fox put himself out there onto the political stage, expecting a pass because you have a disease is weak.

Give me a break; this is absolutely pathetic.

It might be one thing if Rush pointed out that it is possible Fox tried to arrange it so his symptoms would be on full display, or even exaggerated.

However, Rush went well beyond that with his childish body language and poor physical imitation. I don't see how anyone can defend that; it's not "Well, Fox put himself out there, so Rush had a right." Rush went over the line.

It's his schtick. As well as his assertion that it wasn't just "possible", and that it was on purpose.

Of course I didn't know that he physically acted it out. But then I don't pay that much attention to him. If I did the same thing, I would expect Rush to go "over the line" and would not be "shocked and outraged" over it. (Although if I wanted to play the same silly game I'd act like I was.)

I'm not shocked that Ed did this, don't really care. Rush is shielded by the hefty cash he earns to be on the "front lines" of this particular type of playing politics. It's what he gets the big bucks to do. Nor am I "shocked" that he mocked MJ Fox, nor "offended" at how he did it, nor do I believe that you are in actuality.

Dude, don't try to turn this into a "false outrage" thing. Nowhere am I using the word shocked, because Rush's childishness does not "shock" me.

However, calling it his schtick doesn't make it right. What I find pathetic are the lame attempts to apologize for & defend Rush in this instance.

I would agree, if I saw any.

And yeah, I'd call it "childish". Works for me. It's a portion of politics. It is unrealistic to say that the "shock and outrage" folks weren't salivating all over it though, as I said, I think that if you want to play that same silly game you'd pretend to be "shocked and outraged" over it and that I didn't think that you were in actuality.

But then what I say often is ignored for what you want me to have said. It's his schtick, he's made a ton of money doing it for 20 years now.

Do I embarrass you? I don't embarrass myself, do how can it be deeply embarrassing? Your stupidity is no secret to the board, dear...you reveal yourself every time you post! so carry on, deeply embarrassed one!

You would have to have at least a litle bit of compassion to feel embarrassed and that's why you don't feel it.

I wouldn't argue that lefties weren't salivating over it; of course, they look for any attempt to bring Rush down.

Rush's popularity, and the lengths to which his legions go to defend him, is somewhat inexplicable to those on the left. His legions will read this and say, "He's doing the job right, then; he's right, and that makes the lefties mad." Which makes it even weirder.

So, when he has a moment like the MJ Fox moment, when everything we know about him is in full display, and his legions STILL see fit to defend that episode as justified and one in which "Fox was asking for it"...yeah, that is even stranger.

Care to supply more proof then your opinion.
I already supplied proof in the negative to that particular post. It is simply untrue that there is any connection to opioid use and hearing loss at all, let alone to autoimmune causes. As a scientist Mott should be particularly embarrassed that he fell for that myth-slinging repetition.

I also left some proof a few days ago, that was ignored for some obscure reason that is only known to those that want to keep the lie alive.

Once again, I will post Mr Fox's admission he was over medicated for the ad

Fox: I Was Over-Medicated In Stem Cell Ad
CBS News Exclusive: Parkinson's-Afflicted Actor Tells Katie Couric He Wasn't Acting In Ad

(CBS/AP) Responding to criticism by conservative pundit Rush Limbaugh, actor Michael J. Fox defended his appearance in a political campaign ad, saying he wasn't acting or off his medication.

In fact, at the time he was over-medicated for his Parkinson's disease, Fox said Thursday in an exclusive interview with CBS Evening News anchor Katie Couric.

"The irony is that I was too medicated. I was dyskinesic," Fox told Couric. "Because the thing about … being symptomatic is that it's not comfortable. No one wants to be symptomatic; it's like being hit with a hammer."

His body visibly wracked by tremors, Fox appears in a political ad touting Missouri Democratic Senate candidate Claire McCaskill's stance in favor of embryonic stem cell research. That prompted Limbaugh to speculate that Fox was "either off his medication or acting."

Fox told Couric, "At this point now, if I didn't take medication I wouldn't be able to speak."

He said he appeared in the ad only to advance his cause, and that "disease is a non-partisan problem that requires a bipartisan solution."

"I don't really care about politics," Fox added. "We want to appeal to voters to elect the people that are going to give us a margin, so we can't be vetoed again."

nowhere in that "admission" does Fox state that he took medication for the purpose of garnering public sympathy or for advancing his political agenda.

I knew you would not see the truth. Party over contry as usual (shrug)

I knew you would be incapable of discussion and debate and would rely on posting and reposting spam... and then lying about it.

please quote those sentences from Fox's statement that indicate that he took medication for the purpose of heightening the appearance of his disease or for garnering sympathy or for advancing his agenda.

moron.

Look dippy, he admitted he over medicated himself so he would have a better effect in the ad. Libs are known for bringing out their victims and demanding more money for their pet projects

That is how you con men operate. Facts and the truth are not a consideration when it comes to pushing your agenda

You are living proof of that son

he admitted he was overmedicated. he did NOT admit that he was overmedicated "SO HE WOULD HAVE A BETTER EFFECT IN THE AD".

That is a lie.

Yea, keep spinning. Why else would be be over medicated? He is an actor and knows how to put on a show to get the effect he wants

You are to much of a hack to admit it however
