Maye Musk is a longtime model and nutritionist in New York who raised three children in South Africa including Elon Musk, CEO and Chairman of electric car maker Tesla Motors Inc.

I happened to talk to her right after she did the photoshoot for the magazine a few months back and now that it's international news, I pulled out my notes.

At the time I spoke to her, Maye didn't know if she would make the New York Magazine cover, saying there was another model also at the same shoot.

Maye also said she wasn't totally naked for the shoot: "I was allowed to wear a nude thong and nude nipple covers," she said.
