Emails reveal how foundation donors got access to Clinton and her close aides

Vocational training is a great point. I've focused my points so far on more traditional schooling, but yeah, we should totally help with trade skills as well. Europe provides much more opportunity for those skills and it really benefits them. Everyone should have the opportunity for an advanced education, but you're right, we shouldn't limit education to that either.

As for toning down the craziness, I agree, but I'd like to see it a bit longer. I don't see him focusing on my priorities either and his party will push him to the right. At least Hillary's party will push her to the left
well if all you are interested in then is basic right/left politics -there isn't much else to say.

I don't support issues like education because I'm a Democrat, I'm a Democrat because I support issues like education. What you said sounds good, but it's hollow. Trump doesn't support education, fighting poverty or building the infrastructure either

he's specifically called for infrastructure -you are not listening as a "Democrat"..

How do you fight poverty? more of the same? where has that gotten us?
Growing GDP ( wealth) helps everyone -the middle class / working poor/ and poor

How have tax cuts for the rich and trickle down worked for you so far, telemarketer?
tax cuts for the rich/trickle down are not growing the GDP -it's just another income re-distribution scheme for the 1%.

GDP growth is increasing the aggregate wealth of a nation

No, I've said several times that the parties have to work together on poverty. It's not just money, poor need opportunity. And we're not giving it to them. Every person we switch from being a sink of money to having a good job is a double win because we both stop paying and start collecting. You'd think Republicans would want to help with that considering how they scream like a stuck pig at paying welfare

And I don't want to take the wealthy's money away from them, but they have to help. This country is so wealthy. It's like the death penalty. No matter how much you support it, the country doesn't and it's not coming back in a big way. The country doesn't want the extreme poverty either and we are going to have to pay taxes one way or another. So do we want to just keep fighting between the parties and sending them checks or work together to provide opportunity? One or the other is going to happen.

I don't think you hear the ranting from me a lot of Democrats do in their hatred of Republicans. I just don't see the Republicans standing for anything I stand for other than gun ownership rights. I'm from Maryland, which makes people think of the deep blue Baltimore and DC areas that dominate the State population. But I live in the mountains of Maryland. Think West Virginia to understand my politics better

well Hello. I'm from Baltimore and surrounding counties. I've been in Florida since '99 -escaping the insane Democratic taxes (rain tax /flush tax) .
I lived there all my life beforehand -born in the mid 1950's - so growing up in Baltimore was actually a good experience.
The city had a manufacturing base, and the Port of Baltimore was more then the Inner harbor.

The country is not as wealthy as you think, and not tracked along that line if we continue to hemmorage jobs.
Mexico /NAFTA/the TPP -everything Bernie was saying is stealing our wealth potential.
One thing I like about Trump is he pushes those same ideas..Clinton called the TPP the "gold standard" before itbecame politically inconvenient for her to continue to support it.

I'm 100% non-partisan now, after growing up a Baltimore Democrat. I'm convinced partisanship is for lazy minds.
And who benefits from the 2 party structure more then the entrenched establishment?
Bernie and even Trump are the biggest threat to the insider governing (plutocracy of special interests)..

Anyway..i'm glad to see you take a more nuanced stance then I gave you credit for,and will be looking forward to speaking to you further.

Thanks! Same here. I'd like to reach non-partisan. But while the Democrats frequently disappoint me, Republicans just don't offer me anything. We need to realistically address our inequality problems. The irony is I agree with Republican words to a point that we need to not just give people money. The problem is they don't seem to back that up, they fight everything. I'm not looking for government to make what we have and earn equal, but I am looking for government to make sure everyone has an opportunity. The Democrats don't do that very well, the Republicans don't do that at all

I do not think you're going to find the solution by partisan politicians. The Clinton's are rich, most Senators and Congress people are the same.
The problem -and not to personalize this is too many people vote "holding their nose".
For goodness sake if it comes to that ( so called voting for "lessor of 2 evils) then vote 3rd party for change..

I voted for Gary Johnson last time, and for a 3rd part Florida governor. The thing is it's not particularly satisfying
voting for someone whom has no chance.

Clinton is a "no go"for me. Her corruption/arrogance of power/warmongering /and general failed tenure as Sec of State
precludes even my vote.

I'm still hoping Trump cans settle down -he is afterall not professional politician - but if not I'll have to vote Johnson again.
++

Do you follow baseball? WTF happened to the Baltimore Orioles ??

I am not sure how my explanations lead to that I'm voting "partisan." Maybe we mean different things by that. To me it means you ignore your views in the interest of the party. When I'm saying the Democrats follow my views more than the Republicans, I don't call that "partisan." Do you mean something different?

I'm saying there is no true reform possible by using a Democratic/Republican dichotomy.
Sanders was about getting rid of Big Donor special interests politics. That has to be the goal before "we the people" can hold politicians to the fire

Fair point. I'm not sure it changes anything though

it's the only thing that would -except perhaps public financing of elections.
Money and power are absolute corruptors of humanity -and our politics today is driven solely by both.

You can't take the power out of politics ( although Constitutional rule allows for a decentralized distribution thru balance of powers/federalism)
But the money could be gotten out by public financing & ending revolving door lobbying.

Revolving Door

Although the influence powerhouses that line Washington's K Street are just a few miles from the U.S. Capitol building, the most direct path between the two doesn't necessarily involve public transportation. Instead, it's through a door—a revolving door that shuffles former federal employees into jobs as lobbyists, consultants and strategists just as the door pulls former hired guns into government careers.

Clinton is spending the entire weeks and most of last week fundraising..what will she owe for that if elected?

It would be nice to take the money out of politics, but I'm not sure how you actually accomplish that. Money drives the world.

It would be nice to have elections though where people just present their ideas and those who convince the most people are elected.

Clearly money has corrupted Hillary though. She sounds like she did believe in things when she was younger. It's hard to believe that she does today though

you'd have to get rid of riding the public gravy train by politicians.
Public financing does that -if they don't need scads of money to run for office -they don't need Big Donors buying influence -
and then no influence peddling by the politicians..

Hillary is different now then before. She's rich, she's part of the corrupt system, and she's stillblaming everyone else for her fuck ups.
In that case at least she's still the same.

We agree about Hillary. You're more optimistic than I am about "public funding." So Hillary has taken the money from Wall Street and the rich in three ways.

1) Funding her campaign
2) Outrageous speaking fees providing her with personal wealth
3) Pay for service by donating money to the Clinton Foundation when she was Secretary of State

You only dealt with number one on that list

absolutely true re: HRClinton..
public financing would require politicians to vote against their own special interests..absolutely true also

I think we're going to agree on a lot of things. As you said before to me, I appreciate someone who has nuanced views, this is going to be fun
