Look at tom having another meltdown. I think I will pull a Topspin and use both names from now on... awesome!

LOL

I guess this whole conversation you're having w/ Rana right now isn't making it all about you, and is doing its best to remember that this is about a teenager who was killed.

Man, are you guys phony.

I am just supremely happy that the rest of the board has finally seen how fucking loony you really are. They have only seen a part of it up to now but Dorothy has finally got to see the wizard.

Cliffie I didn't write anything with that name I haven't or wouldn't say as Darla. I just used it to circumvent a thread ban. Stop with your big fraud. And Onceler is not the rest of the board. But he certainly has a new group of friends now. I can't wait to see how it works out for you cute kids!

Are you remembering the tragedy w/ this post, Darla?

What a hypocritical phony. How many times has she posted over the past couple of days "poor self-pitying Onceler - making this all about you. We're talking about a murdered teenager!" Such melodrama & false emotion.

Then, 2 pages of this.

Sanford, Fla., Congresswoman: Self-Defense Statutes Not Being Applied Equally

The congresswoman who represents Sanford, Fla., urged those upset with the George Zimmerman verdict to express their anger at the ballot box — and channel their frustration into another case.

“My heart is just so heavy for the Martin family. You need to know that. And I contacted the Justice Department as soon as this incident happened along with the Congressional Black Caucus and asked them to investigate,” said Rep. Corrine Brown (D-Fla.).

Brown brought up the case of Marissa Alexander, a 31-year-old Jacksonville woman who invoked Florida’s Stand Your Ground law when she fired a warning shot into the wall to ward off her abusive husband.

“Marissa Alexander has a master’s degree. Never had any trouble with the law, and the case shows that she was abused, beaten, put in the hospital, pregnant with a baby of her husband at the time. She shot a warning shot. She was overcharged and got 20 years,” the congresswoman said.

“Let me just say that the criminal justice system is not working for the people that I represent. It’s not working — not just blacks, but poor people. Something needs to happen. And you can’t not just expect the president or the Congress person, but you’ve got to arm yourself. You’ve got to be registered. You’ve got to vote that ballot. You’ve got to vote for the attorney general, the judges. I mean, everybody has to do their part, because this is unacceptable.”

Brown said when she talks with her colleagues, “and I talk to different groups and organizations around the country, it’s hard for them to believe that a person could actually get 20 years for firing a warning shot and no one got hurt, but yet, in Sanford, you kill a youth, and yet, you know, not guilty.”

Angela Corey was the state attorney who oversaw the case against Alexander, as well as the one who brought the charges against Zimmerman.

“I’m not comparing, but there’s something wrong with the system, and we need to double-down and change the law, that’s the state legislators. We need judges to give them more discretion. I mean, we need to deal with the criminal justice system. And let me just say one thing, as a mother, we tell our children, do not talk to strangers. And we work with them to talk with the police force, but George Zimmerman was not a police officer. He had no business saying anything to that young man. None whatsoever.”

The ballot box .. where this fight will really be fought.

I am not claiming that none of them are racist. I am saying they did the ONLY thing they could do. Had they found him guilty after the shitty trial put on by the state the conviction would have been overturned by an appellate court. I UNDERSTAND that lots of people are upset by the verdict. I have even typed in another thread what I believed happened. I will never be able to prove it. The state did not prove 2d degree murder or manslaughter according to the instructions given. This is no different than the jury finding Casey Anthony not guilty when we all know she killed her child. No one lets their kid go missing for 30 days and doesn't call the police. Yet she walked as well. It's hard to stomach sometimes, but this is the beauty of our system.

yet another one quoting the woman who fired a shot?

1) She was in her former house illegally... though it was to get her things and she thought her ex was gone... still... it was illegal entry
2) When she realized her ex was home, she left the house, went to her car, got her gun, went back in her ex's house and THEN fired a shot... then tried to claim stand your ground and lost
3) Because she was in the act of a felony, the sentence was mandatory.

But yeah, lets just pretend she just fired a shot. Totally an accurate description of that case.

This is how we will lose our freedom, by thinking that only a certain class of people are capable of watching over us. it's so wrongheaded that it could only be thought of by those who fear their fellow man.

Nice article BAC.

That's the organizing that must take place.

That ... and this ..

Angered By Zimmerman Verdict, Some Call for a Boycott of Florida Businesses

The acquittal of George Zimmerman in the 2012 killing of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin kicked off protests around the country, as well as calls for a boycott of Florida—where the trial took place, and where a controversial “Stand Your Ground” law still exists.

Since the six-woman jury acquitted Zimmerman over the weekend, a petition has been floated at MoveOn.org to boycott Florida tourism, and various Facebook pages have been created (Boycott Florida, Boycott Florida Economy), one featuring a photo of Mickey Mouse and the words “Just Say No.” At Twitter the #BoycottFlorida hashtag has been getting plenty of action.

People who are upset with the Zimmerman verdict have even been voicing their anger at the official Visit Florida Facebook page. “I really LOVE vacationing in Florida, but I cannot, in good conscience, take my kids to Florida, or visit Florida again ever!!” reads a statement from one commenter, responding to a contest to win a vacation in Key West.

Florida is HEAVILY dependent on tourism.

better that 10 guilty go free, than one innocent be imprisoned.

Oh okay, because it read to me as if you were complaining about "the left" calling the jury racist. I myself did do that, and I would like to challenge anyone who says that I am wrong, to read that interview...because that is one stone cold racist asshole there.

As for what you are saying, whether I agree or disagree, you really have to start at the beginning of this case when zimmerman was let go and not even drug tested at the scene. There is no doubt in my mind Martin is dead because he's black. Zimmerman profiled him, just as he profiled the 48 other black males he called the cops on for being "suspicious". We all know this. And I think we all know that if the dead kid was white zimmerman doesn't walk that night, and if he doesn't walk that night, the case is completely different from the start. So is the outcome.

So let's not claim this was not racism.
