If Congress wants to apportion money to spend on cancer research for kids or any other programs that tug at your heartstrings, then they can draft and pass standalone bills.

But they didn't. Did you bother to ask why?

It's .... interesting that some people cry about Elon Musk exerting his influence on policy, but stay quiet about George Soros and Bill Gates

When were Soros and Gates political appointees?

Where was I before I was so irrelevantly interrupted?

Oh, right.

I suspect that not one of the whiners has ever wondered why a CR should have to be an omnibus bill.

I'm fairly sure that most of the whiners don't know what a CR is.

Or what's meant by "omnibus".

Frantic Googling intensifies... :rofl2:

Now, where was I before I was so irrelevantly interrupted again?

Oh, yeah.

Since none of the usual suspects seem to have any idea what the thread's topic is, let's see if anyone else wants to tell the forum why the House rejected the CR today...

"President-elect Donald Trump on Thursday took credit for killing the House Republican-proposed government funding bill, telling ABC News there will be a government shutdown unless Congress extends the limit on government borrowing or eliminates the debt ceiling entirely.

"We're not going to fall into the debt ceiling quicksand," Trump said in an exclusive phone interview. "There won't be anything approved unless the debt ceiling is done with."
