Some on social media called the Turkish national's performance 'embarrassing' and called for an investigation by Fifa. Others said he should 'retire' after an 'incompetent' performance while some on social media targeted the Croatia players and accused them of underhand tactics and wasting time. His decision to allow the Croatia equaliser was also criticised with fans claiming it should have been given as a foul against England for a high foot.

I have a lot of UK folks on my twitter and I am impressed at how excited they have been by the prospects, and while bummed, many of them say they will now be rooting for Croatia. Very sporting not to be so pissy about the loss as I imagine many would be.

To borrow a phrase from the 2000 election...don’t be a Sore Loserman Tom. The officials called more fouls on Croatia, including two yellow cards to England’s one. So the biased official didn’t cost England the match. It’s not like England laid down and died either. That was a very entertaining match.

So be a good sport now, I’m sure you’re deeply disappointed but what an amazing run by the underdog Croats. Hats off to them and I hope they gig the Frogs.
 
BTW, I thought the English fans were a real class act after what had to be a devestating loss. The English and Japanese fans sure did represent their respective nations quite well.
