Epic smack down for the lefties

No sooner did Paul Ryan finish his great speech last night did Balak Obamas dutiful soldiers at PMSNBC start fact checking stating the Janesville plant closed under Bush.

Well, according to this story it looks like Ryan is dead on balls accurate

http://gazettextra.com/news/2009/feb/19/gm-plant-last-day-finalized/

From your link: "General Motors will end medium-duty truck production in Janesville on April 23, four months to the day after the plant stopped building full-size sport utility vehicles.

About 100 employees associated with the line learned of the layoffs Wednesday.

April will mark the end of vehicle production at the Janesville plant that traces its roots to 1919 and the Samson Model M tractor. Chevrolet production started in Janesville in 1923.

The Isuzu line and its employees build about 25 trucks four days a week. The cab-forward truck is commonly used as a delivery vehicle."

So on April 23rd of 2009 they stopped the massive production of 25 vehicles a week?

And this was 4 months, to the day, after the plant stopped producing SUVs? Obama was sworn in on January 20th 2009. The plant stopped producing SUVs on the 23rd, and its his fault?

The plant did not close in January of 2009, but it laid off 750 employees and left only a skeleton crew to continue making the Izusu line. And that died 4 months later, when Obama had been president for a total of 93 days, and its all his fault? And Ryan knew that the main plant closed before Obama could have time to do anything, so he did lie.

Fact check? Opinion piece, in some folks worlds, no difference. The horrors! Fox has liberal contributors:

Meh, that's a fact check. Unless you actually believe it's a "liberal position" to tell the truth? If you would like to claim that the 716 billion Obama saves in Medicare spending (by lowering payments, not by lowering benefits) is not also in Ryan's budget, if you would like to claim that Ryan voted for Simpson/Bowles, or that the GM plant he blames Obama for didn't go under during Bush's watch (and btw I have Ryan's original statement on that closing, and Obama wasn't president, Bush was), then I will gladly debate you on that. We can begin with those three blatant lies and go from there.

Game?

I watch MSNBC's coverage last night and they were going crazy over this one. Neither of these two articles has Paul Ryan's quote from his speech. We need to see that again because my recollection was it was very lawyerly/politician like where he stated something to the effect of Obama said in '08 at a campaign stop that with his leadership this plant would stay open another 100 years. Again I'd have to see the exact quote but I thought it was phrased so it wouldn't be a 'lie' but it was obviously deceptive.

But... but.... Obama promised.....

February 13, 2008:
“I believe that if our government is there to support you, and give you the assistance you need to re-tool and make this transition, that this plant will be here for another hundred years.”

October 11, 2008:
“As president, I will lead an effort to retool plants like the GM facility in Janesville so we can build the fuel-efficient cars of tomorrow and create good-paying jobs in Wisconsin and all across America.”

Balak Obama owned GM. He could have opened the plant back up. Why didnt he? He promised to. He broke his promise

Only in rabid righty world does "I will lead an effort to retool.." equal "Mark my words, this plant will stay open."

Here's the quote. I linked the transcript.

"A lot of guys I went to high school with worked at that GM plant. Right there at that plant, candidate Obama said: "I believe that if our government is there to support you. this plant will be here for another hundred years." That's what he said in 2008.

Well, as it turned out, that plant didn't last another year. It is locked up and empty to this day. And that's how it is in so many towns today, where the recovery that was promised is nowhere in sight."

...4 months later, when Obama had been president for a total of 93 days, and its all his fault?

YES... I would say, that something happening 93 days after Obama became president, is certainly his fault. Just as things that happened 93 days after Bush became president was his fault. Is there some magical liberal 'grace period' we're not aware of here? Why is it Obama gets a pass for things that clearly happened under his watch, while at the same fucking time, you want to BLAME THE ECONOMY off on Republicans, who have no control over Congress or the White House? Does any of this make any sense to someone who isn't marinated in liberal kook-aide?

Well given that Balak Hussein Yobabymama is an affirmative action president he can't e can't be judged like white presidents. He needs to be graded on a curve. Sorta like entry for college.

So an 8% unemployment rate for the colored guy is like 5% for a white guy

That is how the liberal mind works. And I am loosely defining "work"

http://www.foxnews.com/opinion/2012/08/30/paul-ryans-speech-in-three-words/

Actually FOX news fact-checked it and concluded he set the record for number of blatant lies in one speech.

Oops!

Fact: While Ryan tried to pin the downgrade of the United States’ credit rating on spending under President Obama, the credit rating was actually downgraded because Republicans threatened not to raise the debt ceiling.

More FACT:
There would be no need to raise the debt ceiling if Obama was not spending money that the country did
not have to spend....raising the debt to untenable levels.....that is the bottom line....without the spin.

Fact: While Ryan blamed President Obama for the shut down of a GM plant in Janesville, Wisconsin, the plant was actually closed under President George W. Bush. Ryan actually asked for federal spending to save the plant, while Romney has criticized the auto industry bailout that President Obama ultimately enacted to prevent other plants from closing.

More FACT:
Obama: I believe that if our government is there to support you, and give you the assistance you need to re-tool and make this transition, that this (General Motors) plant will be here for another hundred years,” said Barack Obama in February, 2008, promising UAW workers at GM’s giant, troubled plant in Janesville, Wisc., that he would watch over them if elected president. “When I talk about real change that will make a real difference in the lives of working families, it’s not just the poll-tested rhetoric of a political campaign. It’s the cause of my life. And you can be sure that it will be the cause of my presidency from the very first day I take office.”
It was just poll-tested rhetoric.
Before Obama was sworn in, the Janesville plant closed in late 2008, eliminating 6,000 jobs. And by his first day in office, Obama had forgotten the people of Janesville and the big SUVs they used to build.

Fact: Though Ryan insisted that President Obama wants to give all the credit for private sector success to government, that isn't what the president said. Period.

Thats a matter of interpretation...."You didn't build that" claim speaks for itself....and defies the truth of our 230+ years history...

Fact: Though Paul Ryan accused President Obama of taking $716 billion out of Medicare, the fact is that that amount was savings in Medicare reimbursement rates (which, incidentally, save Medicare recipients out-of-pocket costs, too) and Ryan himself embraced these savings in his budget

More FACT:
Obama did....DID cut Medicare by $716 billion....agreeing with the 'savings' and disagreeing with
how they are achieved and are two different issues....

And incidentally, this nit-picking or Ryan disproves the the claim that FOX is in the pocket of the Republicans and Conservatives, is bogus....

Hi-lighted for Christiafan....
