He was canceled for his remarks about the bravery of the 9/11 terrorists who flew planes into buildings, compared to U.S pilots who drop bombs from miles away.

His remarks certainly put the final nail in his coffin, but ratings had dropped for years. He tried to replace Coulter with Dinesh D'Souza, and the chemistry never worked.

Many other leftists made similar remarks and survived, but Maher had stopped being entertaining.
