Could be because we are citizens of Constitutional REPUBLIC.....and such government is guaranteed at all levels via Constitutional decree (Article Four, Section Four, Clause One). The question is why do all socialists promote the false premise that we are a democracy in the mirror image of all the past failed democracies of world history? See: Federalist No. 10 as to why the US was founded as a representative REPUBLIC instead of invoking the failed ideology of a democracy where there is no compatibility with the personal rights of property nor a separation of POWER within the system of government.
FYI: For something to have a demise...it must first have a beginning. The US is a conglomerate of city/states, each with its own unique constitution....a federal REPUBLIC with a republican government format.

Its a good thing that we live in a republic where there is a separation of power with co-equal branches of government....for an example just look at the circus going on in DC as we speak where one branch is attempting to silence the voice of the people and declare its superiority over another branch...such as pretending they have the power of LEGAL SUBPONEAS without involving the minority party or even the JUDICAL committee of their own party. These supposed subpoena's are toothless.....just like the threat of impeachment void of having an up/down ratification vote from the entire house.
Notice how they demand TRANSPARANCY from the white house....then go behind closed doors to hold a supposed investigation? PRICELSS.
Why are they doing this? They do not want the people to see the actual testimonies of those they are questioning....they want to LEAK cherry picked half truths to the press and keep the people in the dark about the ENTIRE TRUTH.
