Criminal charges in the general justice system have to be based on something too, they don't just choose randomly, but innocent people still get charged with crimes they didn't commit every day. Our justice system is not infallible. That's why we have trials instead convicting right on arrest. To determine if one is guilty or not. Federal investigations function in the same way. And in this country, you are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
ICE has come to be America's brown shirts in the minds of many Americans, their actions of separating children and the manner it was done is about as un-American as you can get. They seem concentrated on immigrants from South America, but where we live the Asians, Russians, Asian Indians, and other eastern Europeans dominate the immigrants. Most are probably no more legal than the Hispanics but little is said. Republicans fear Hispanics as they think they are democratic voters, it is a wonderful excuse for hatred and a weird sort of racism. Dog whistles continue calling out the base and they hear them.
