Exactly when did the Democrats grow balls?

Did you not pay attention, all Americans lost any chance at any healthcare last night, tomorrow we will start dying of things like chicken pox and scarlet fever.

What? You mean this won't keep people from being sick? I thought chicken pox and scarlet fever would be a thing of the past under Obamacare. I expect us to be the healthiest happiest people on the planet for what this thing is going to cost. I also expect it to be easier to go see a doctor, I don't expect it to cost me a dime, and at the same time, I am looking forward to the debt reduction it will create. I think it's a wonderful plan, and can't wait until we see results... I hope all this wellness and happy healthiness that is free for all, yet saves us money, happens before November, because that is when America is going to vote Liberals out of office permanently if it doesn't.

Zap you've said this several times now but have yet to show one example of a Republican who voted against this going against the will of their constituents.

And I notice you didn't comment on the thread/discussion last week when Obama and the DNC threatened Dem politicians with witholding support in the upcoming election if they didn't vote with the party for this bill. That seems a strange move for a party you claim thinks for itself and doesn't act in lockstep.

Don't hold your breath. The only thing Zapless knows how to do is shriek like a ninny against the repubs while conveniently fogging up the mirror with his heavy breathing with the Dems.

:palm:

LOL. It speaks volumes about the Ds, the only bipartisanship on this bill was the "no" vote. Unfortunately the "win" for the President outweighed what was best for the nation. Drive that wedge in further.

Never in American history has a bill that would have such an overeaching impact on our economy and our Constitutional governance been passed. Passed against the will of the people in the most partisan and arrogant manner!

The grass roots emails are flying...even in liberal WA Rossi-R is leading incumbant Patty Murry-D in polls...he has not thrown his hat in the ring, but rumor has it he will next month...On the congressional ticket Smith is being challenged by an unknown republican that in two days has raised thousands of dollars.

Obama's and the Dems Waterloo?

This is simply a lie. This bill is about the size of Medicare part D. What about goddamn Social Security? The entire fucking New Deal? Even Medicare? Every Defense funding bill ever passed? You're insane.

??....what are you talking about?......this bill just modified 1/6th of the nation's economy.....

"Modified" is the key word here. It doesn't modify much. It is literally the least radical set of steps you could imagine that would insure universal coverage. Medicare had a far greater impact on the economy. Social Security introduced a 14% tax on the American economy. This doesn't compare.

Not true....the bill contain a LOAD of compromised inserts from the GOP...inserts that they APPROVED OF IN ADDITION TO THE BILL at one point.

Hell, the GOP got their way by the ELIMINATION of the single payer and public options.

For them to claim otherwise is pure, unadulterated BULLSHIT. I fail to see how the status quo or the time disproved fallacy of letting the "free market" solve the problem was the "best for the Nation".

The "wedge" was driven the day the PNAC agenda was rejected in 2008, and the Party of No has made no apologies for all the lies and distortions and fear mongering they've screamed from the mountain top. They lost, and they don't like it...so now things get REALLY ugly.

So be it.

Things haven't started getting ugly yet.

You ain't just whistl'in Dixie...because the neocon driven GOP DOES NOT like to be beaten...ESPECIALLY by the same rules and tactics that they themselves have used. Cheney running around repeating the same old disproven BS and denouncing Obama was just an indicator....

No, you are simply an idiot:

Social Security Act of 1935 drew majority support by Republicans in the House (81 yes, 15 no) and in the Senate (16 yes, five no).

Medicare and Medicaid were established in 1965 with doctors opposed, but the public on board. The two programs attracted a bipartisan majority in Congress of nearly all Democrats and half the Republicans. In 2003, President Bush's Medicare prescription drug benefit got only nine Democratic votes in the House, but 35 of 48 Senate Democrats voted for it.

Social Security Act of 1935 drew majority support by Republicans in the House (81 yes, 15 no) and in the Senate (16 yes, five no).

It was an idyllic time, was it not? When Republicans still cared more about American lives than their political fortunes.

Your original point was that this was the biggest bill ever passed. Which is hilariously untrue.

under what stretch of imagination do you call this universal coverage.....ten percent of Americans didn't have coverage.....two thirds of those now have SOME coverage.....that two thirds couldn't afford insurance premiums......they still have to come up with the first $5000 in medical bills.....

Man, this thread is full of Tea Bagger tap dancing and wingnutter Irony.

Since when did PiMP start complaining that the health care reform wasn't liberal enough, and since when did Cons who spent the last 50 harboring hatred in the hearts for Social Security and Medicare "suddenly" proclaim with pride that some republilcans in congress voted for those liberal programs?

Holy crap, did I wake up in an alternate universe today?

Take Jason Altmire (D-PA). He's not a republican but still voted against the majority of his constituents. His district encompasses mostly middle to lower class areas with a few upper class areas sprinkled in. Yet he says he voted "no" because the majority of his constituents were against it. The majority aren't working against their own interests. Clearly Altmire based his vote on what the wealthy wanted.

He formerly worked for one of the area's biggest medical centers. He's gotten the greatest part of his contributions from the medical industry. The kicker is that Altmire has 135,000 Medicare recipients in his district, and more Medicare Advantage recipients than any of the 435 congressional districts across the country.

Altmire's going to be in big trouble the next election cycle because what he calls "the majority of his constituents" won't be enough to bail him out of the debacle he created for his district.

If chickenpox and scarlet fever make a comeback, it's because of idiot parents who refuse vaccines with the excuse that they aren't going to inject "poison" into their little darlings. A century's worth of medical knowledge re: the cause and treatment of disease will go down the drain because of these boneheads and their lack of social responsibility.
