Once he learned of the threat, he ran — accompanied by an unarmed school security officer and two administrators — from the cafeteria to the library, Robinson said. “It’s a fairly long hallway, but the deputy sheriff got there very quickly.”
According to Arapahoe County Sheriff Grayson Robinson, “The deputy was yelling for people to get down and identified himself as a county deputy sheriff. We know for a fact that the shooter knew that the deputy was in the immediate area and, while the deputy was containing the shooter, the shooter took his own life.”

After 911, Air Marshals with guns were instituted on planes, along with allowing pilots who want to carry a gun be able to. The end result is no more hijackings, so more guns to the "Right" people is the answer. Any Teacher who wants to pack a sidearm should be able to, of course after their combat shooting/self defense, training. Anyone walking into a school armed will never know who will shoot their asses off.

you see we all get internets posters opinions on this all day.
smart people trust the experts.
that is good advice in life.
Don't get the lawn guy to do your plumbing
get an expert plummer.
the very same goes with knowledge of other kinds.
Just because they are all experts at things you have no idea about doesn't mean they are wrong.
It means they are experts and your not.

You see its a good way to keep the kids respectful of the police too.
If you have fully trained officers in schools who can keep the kids safe WHILE acting as a bridge to understanding police work and showing the kids that the police are just people performing a job for the community then you can build on the respect for what police do.
You add to the economy and ad to the tax base.
You can even slowly shuffle these officers around from street work to school work as part of their out reach to the community.
the police get reminded of the community the serve and the kids get to see that police are people there to protect them....all of them.
Its the adult and smart thing to do.
