Killing soldiers who fired upon them, as opposed to killing civilian church goers for praying to Jesus. War as opposed to terrorism.

Have we declared war on another Middle Eastern nation? I hadn't realized. It's kinda cool how we kill foreign nationals on that nations land and then act surprised when they're angry. I guess if some Canadians wander into Maine they can totally shoot up the people there

No, but when two military forces are firing upon one another, i think war is an accurate characterization.

If US troops were firing upon Canadians from Maine, I wouldnt blame them one bit for responding.
 
what are the canadian troops doing in maine in the first place, this is what we call borders. You know those things that when violated by armed troops you call and act of war. I suppose you also think the Polish started WW2 by shooting at those innocent german tanks wandering into Lodz.
