F southern man and dixie

I'm not a cultural relativist. Southerners have maintained their awful culture by being ignorant fucks. If they weren't ignorant folks, they would drop culture and accept rationality. I hope for the day when no one believes in God and southern culture is dead, as it should be. God bless the death of the south.

Yeah, tell that to the generation that preceded mine. We've been in Florida for a loooong time.

What you say is fairly true with my generation. But I was raised by true southerners (not racists, not carpet baggers). My momma worked summers on migrant farms. They treated it like camp.

The culture I was raised on was southern. There are still parts of Florida that are very southern.

My speech is like a mid-westerners, until I get around my family and the twang comes out.

No modern moral system is "serious". They are all merely futile intellectual straw-grasping, attempting to rationalize one's own conduct into some kind of coherent value system. It is not meaningful in any way whatsoever other than as a sort of self-pat on the back for conforming to your own rules that you made up out of thin air specifically because you were pre-disposed to follow them. Congratulations on your "morality".
 
Why the fuck should we praise a region whose culture is based upon having lost a war? I'm 1/4 German, and Germany lost not 1, but 2 major wars. Should I build a German identity off of that fact? Maybe place the Swastika on my car and blame Jews for all of the problems they might face with their identity in American life?

Southern culture is not based on the civil war. While some elements of cultural significance are from there, it is not the basis for it.
