I have at least a dozen friends (both left and right) that regularly post political info/comments on Facebook. I've seen people leave comments saying they were defriending the person because they couldn't take it anymore. Eh, to each his own I guess.

Well that's kind of my point. Sort of defeats the purpose of facebook don't you think?

As a child I was always taught to never speak of religion or politics. And, while this has never really served me, it's definitely applicable for facbuk. The general rule is to avoid those topics when the other party isn't a willing participant. With facbuk, it just spills over onto everyone.
