Fake "genocide"; don't fall for the nonsense

Jonathan Sacerdoti, a Jewish journalist and Oxford alumnus, was heckled and abused during a speech opposing a student motion branding Israel an ‘apartheid state responsible for genocide’.

The fact that the Oxford Union chose to censor the video of my speech says it all.

They set up a situation so aggressive and threatening that my colleagues and I had to organise security for ourselves (the union paid a tiny contribution of this cost).

They tried to cancel our speakers before the event.

They tried to derail and stop our speeches with abuse and interruption. They tried to kick us out during the event.

They tried to evict @MosabHasanYOSEF even as he addressed the room.

And now they've tried to hide what happened, in the video of my speech, by muting the sound and sticking to a wide shot.

That's why I am pleased to publish this full video, with the sound restored, and closer footage of some of the abuse.

This was a low point for the Oxford Union, which left Jewish people there feeling afraid and threatened. It was a dangerous challenge to truth, fairness, open discussion and debate. It seemed to me to have been planned that way.

The President of the Union has not apologised, or in fact even communicated with me at all since this sorry display. He barely spoke to me before or during it. I can only assume he was satisfied with how he carried out the entire ambush.

Yahya Sinwar’s assault on October 7th, 2023 didn't just lead to his own death, it's set off an Iranian proxy war against Israel.

Since then, we’ve seen Hamas’ strategic capabilities destroyed and Iran’s prized proxy pals Hezbollah effectively neutered in Lebanon, which looks like leading to the collapse of the Assad regime in Syria, and a strategic conundrum for Russia.

Iranian militias in Iraq are reportedly now refusing to come to Assad’s aid.

Iran themselves have had their pants pulled down by direct attacks from Israel.

Come January, if President Trump plays his trump card (I had to say it) with Turkey, we again may have a generational chance for peace in the Middle East.

It’s all thanks to Israel’s determination to defend themselves, even though they didn’t have a choice.

I guess using children as human shields and propaganda props has an effect on them.

It's not "genocide", though.

Hunger and disease ‘rampant’ in Gaza, UN agency warns

The humanitarian crisis in Gaza is worsening by the day and the “hurdles” in providing aid must be removed, UNRWA chief Philippe Lazzarini has said.

“We are running out of words. Hunger and disease are rampant,” he said in a post on X, commenting on a post by UK Labour MP Annaliese Dodd, who called the situation in Gaza “intolerable”.

“Now is the time for everyone to step up for UNRWA – the backbone of the international aid operation in Gaza,” Lazzarini added.

UNRWA, the United Nations agency for Palestinian refugees, said on December 1 that it had halted the delivery of aid through the Karem Abu Salem (known as Kerem Shalom to Israelis) crossing between Israel and Gaza because of security concerns that it blamed on Israel.
