U.S. Defense Secretary Leon Panetta on Sunday indirectly confirmed recent remarks by the Ambassador to Israel that the U.S. is “ready from a military perspective’’ to stop Iran from making a nuclear weapon if international pressure fails.

The U.S. and members of the United Nations Security Council recently met in Baghdad for talks about Iran’s suspected nuclear weapon program. Iran denies it has military intentions but has called for the destruction of Israel.

Lefties beating the war drums again just like they did from about 1996 up to Bush asking for a vote on the 'Iraq War Resolution'......
And like before, it might be a Republican actually doing the deed and getting
the blame just like what happened to GW.....

That last part is really one of the most pathetic things I've ever read on here.

Poor Bush - getting all of the unwarranted "blame" for the Iraq War, when all he was doing was bowing to the intense pressure from Congressional Dems.

The same Dems, btw, who bravs was saying were on the "wrong side of history" when Saddam's statue fell & it looked like Iraq was a huge success....

Well Onecell, not all the Dims were on the wrong side.....enough voted FOR the WAR RESOLUTION to get it PASSED by a BI-PARTISAN majority......

Then a few hypocrits claimed they didn't know what they were voting for......as if The Iraq War Resolution (formally the Authorization for Use of Military Force Against Iraq Resolution of 2002 isn't self exclamatory............

so lets not make false claims of what I said when its a lie to make those claims....something you're quite at lately.

If Israel does this without support they are sending pilots on a suicide mission. Their planes can reach Iran, but not come back. Without some place for refueling available (support), the pilots will die.

In order to be effective Israel would need weeks of attacks within Iran. Refuelers aren't the only issue, although those slow behemoths need defensive support and/or permission to be in the air space.

Without support Israel would likely be able to hit them once, and only a few of the "most important" targets could be hit, and they'd need to be able to refuel in flight or land on a nearby carrier... The idea that just because you have refuelers means that you have a safe place to refuel would be in error.

We might just accidently have a carrier in the region, that they could reach, and land on out of courtesy and to avoid crashing. Humanitary aid.

I really think that these gung ho armchair warriors haven't a clue what is going on in the Middle East now. Syria is in the middle of a civil war between Sunnis and the minority Alawite Assad regime, who are Shi'ites. Iraq is predominately Shia controlled and might well get sucked in as well, throw in the Iranians and it is a powder keg waiting for someone to light the fuse. From 1st July there will be a European embargo on Iranian oil imports which will leave a shortfall of some 600,000 barrels a day. Prepare for oil at $200+ per barrel and even more if the Iranians block the Straits of Hormuz.

Why would I blame OsamaObama for the price of oil......he can't even control his mouth let alone the price of oil......

But he and Dimos in general, are to blame for our continuing dependence on foreign oil and we all know why.....
