And the backtracking begins.
No president in your lifetime has ever threatened possible military action against Denmark and Greenland.
It's unprecedented, and you know it.
Naturally, it’s unprecedented, anything not done before fits that bill, a real revelation there, genius. That hardly means it shouldn’t be pursued. Let's play make pretend:
Imagine you’re sworn in as president, and at your first national security briefing, you’re handed irrefutable proof of an enemy’s war scheme, strong-arming Denmark’s leadership into a deal for Greenland’s control. You’re told this would drastically boost their odds of executing a military plan to attack and overpower the U.S. After learning this, you know Greenland must be secured very soon to crush any pipe dreams our foes might have.
Do you honestly believe politely asking Denmark for Greenland would get you anywhere, we would get slow walked into long talks and negotiations while China worked its blackmail game. How can you be sure Trump wasn’t briefed on this exact scenario, or something close? Is it possible? I don't know, but luckily, I trust that Trump has America's interests at heart.
Do you genuinely think Trump, already a wealthy old-timer, is chasing Greenland to pad his pockets? Please, spare me. It’s evident China’s been scheming behind closed doors for control of Greenland and Panama, and Trump’s just telling them to get lost in his not-so-subtle way, it's a calculated guess, but one I won't be surprised to find out is accurate. I'm curious to hear what you think Trump's reasons are, I can hardly wait.
