Fast Food Workers Protest Poverty McWages

None of which changes reality. You can emote all over the board until we have to hire a cleaning crew, and it still won't change that they can hire the least educated and skilled worker to replace you. Demanding that they pay you something extravagant when you know they can replace you with a dropout doesn't change that they absolutely will replace you with the dropout.

And do you find that to be acceptable?

If you're asking if they should get a living wage for working full time, then yes.

Then get a skill and a job that will provide a living wage. I'm all about people working, its good for everybody, it just seems that the desire to succeed has been lost....

Or lower the salaries for management to compensate. They're not going to raise prices, for fear of becoming less competitive.

Why must it be equal. Nature picked modern humans over Neanderthals....was that fair or equal? No. Survival of the fittest.

Don't you know? Us Americans have the right to be as rich as we possibly can be....but we don't have the right to a decent wage. Even if there isn't enough "REAL" jobs out there to cover the multitudes who are underemployed.... even if they all DID go $50k in debt to get an "in demand" job.

The really funny thing about all if this is....Righties keep screaming about Marxism, Socialism and Communism....but it doesn't even register that their stances on these things and the results of those stances are doing nothing but breeding disaffected people who might just think it's a good idea to give Communism a whirl.

Instead of being reasonable, and empathetic, they take the "fuck you" approach....and the more people who get screwed over by Corporatism disguised as Capitalism. The stronger those sentiments will get.

It's fucked up, but they are creating their own worst nightmare.

I don't want things to be equal. That's not realistic, and I'm not that kind of socialist.

And being stuck in a darwinist conception of modern times is plainly ridiculous. In capitalism, circumstances of one's birth present a world where outcomes are not largely determined by merit.

Yes, you make a good case. What the capitalist right fails to realize is that Marxism was born out unrestrained capitalism. That's what Marx and Engels observed when writing the Manifesto, that's why socialism was so popular, and that's what modern neo-liberals want to revert to. These things don't come out of nowhere - they're a reaction of the failings of existing structures.

The crazy thing is....all it would take is some common sense, empathy and compassion to set things right. It need not be some massive overhaul of our system.

If those on top of the food chain would realize that, while there's nothing wrong with being wealthy, the everyday working person is struggling mightily, and while government plays a role in that, they themselves are also to blame.

And BTW, Boris.... I don't condone of Communism in America. I'm just stating a fact that if you screw over enough people, it may be just what we get.

Any Communism we get will be internally made. I dont' foresee a people's revolution, not with all the distractions like tv, media, video games, the largestt most expensive armed forces in the world . . .
