It's a bit more serious than bad manners or unprofessional behavior IMO.

I want to see his sentencing records, and I want to know if he has been giving blacks longer sentences than whites, on average, over the years. And if it turns out to be that since he views them as animals he indeed has been, I'd want to see their sentences overturned, or in violent cases, reviewed by another judge or panel of judges.

given that Montana's black population is about 0.5%... the odds that he has even had a black person in front of are... well, after calculating in discriminatory arrest patterns... 99%.

If I made a comment or joke like that on company email and it went public it would mean my ass and rightfully so. I see no problem holding him to that standard. I think he should be fired.

you have a point. I hadn't read the article thinking it was nothing more than bullshit left v. right. all of his records should be investigated for issues like you suggest and if it turns out that he punished non whites harsher than whites, he should be impeached and charged. anything that needs to be done to ensure the moron can't run for public office like Alcee Hastings did.

Petition asks Montana's chief federal judge to resign over Obama comments

BILLINGS - The Montana Human Rights Network has started an online petition asking for the resignation of Montana's chief federal judge.

The petition is linked through the Helena-based organization's Facebook page and was created in response to an email about President Obama which federal judge Richard Cebull sent out to six people.

In the only interview Cebull has given about the email, the judge labeled the content as racist, telling the Great Falls Tribune, "I didn't send it as racist, although that's what it is. I sent it out because it's anti-Obama."

Since the story broke on Wednesday, various national media outlets have picked up the story.

He can't be "removed with cause." He can only be impeached. You think the House Republicans are going to impeach a GWB appointee for anything short of taking a televised dump on Ronald Reagan's grave?

The judge did initiate an ethics complaint against himself, which I guess is a sign that he has at least one shred of integrity, however small.

Lighten up people.....there are jokes about every race and nationality in the world....and always have been for thousands of years.....
Its time to get the fuck over it already.....I'll bet even dog livers are pissed off.....everyone is so touchy......

Pregnancy IS NOT A disease........cancer and cysts and serious medical issues.....you don't need a PHD to know that....
A large percentage of birth control meds are taken for medical reasons and women should have access to those needed meds.....you also don't need a PHD to know that either.

Jesus fucking christ Pavo! The mans a professional Jurist!!!!! One of the most important profesional ethics of a jurist in impartiality. What he said was completely unprofessional for anyone in the work place. It can create an environment of harrasment but for a Jurist it's extraordinarily unprofessional. We depend upon these people to be unbiased and impartial. We literally depend upon their impartiality for our legal system to work. This is an over the top firing offense for anyone in the work place but expescially so for a Jurist!!
