i disagree, rush and people like him are becoming more and more the party spokesmen

they cater to the 'base' of the party and are saying just what that base wants to hear and the candidates are having to swing further and further to the right to try and capture that base to get nominated

I am not making a statement that requires facts, I am providing my opinion. Which I don't find too unreasonable (you shouldn't force others to subsidize your morality).

No one is forcing anyone to subsidize anything. This is about mandating insurance companies cover basic preventative health care. It's nothing new. Of course none of you have a problem forcing people who are traumatized by pictures of dead children in Iraq or other countries to pay for the bombs that kill them. You all have a very twisted idea of "morals". However, that aside, the fact is, this is an insurance mandate, there are no taxpayer dollars involved.

And you are factually wrong about one thing; that I "can't" ask them to.

The Blunt Amendment failed. In fact, it is now the law of the land that we the people CAN instruct them what to do (and well over 60% of the people support this mandate for birth control coverage), and they will do it under penalty of law.

And, as you said, no conservative politician dares to oppose him publicly; when they have, they end up groveling - so fear-inducing are Rush and his army of dittoheads.

Rush is THE conservative voice of this generation.
