Someone from the Right admits what we all knew a looooooooooong time ago...of course then someone else hit him upside the head with a bible, he realized how politically stupid what he said was, and IMMEDIATELY he begins the backpedaling.

Texas tea party leader: GOP doesn’t want black people to vote:

A tea party leader in Dallas is facing a backlash after saying the Republican Party doesn’t want African-American voters to show up at the polls.

“I’m going to be real honest with you,” Tea Party leader Ken Emanuelson said at a Dallas County Republican Party event on May 20. “The Republican Party doesn’t want black people to vote if they are going to vote 9-to-1 for Democrats.”

An audio recording of his comments were published online Tuesday by the pro-Democrat group Battleground Texas.

In a statement posted on Facebook, Emanuelson said he misspoke during the meeting. He said he shouldn’t have spoken on behalf of the Republican Party.

“What I meant, and should have said, is that it is not, in my personal opinion, in the interests of the Republican Party to spend its own time and energy working to generally increase the number of Democratic voters at the polls, and at this

point in time, nine of every ten African American voters cast their votes for the Democratic Party,” he wrote.

“That said, I’ve been very clear, time and time again, that the Republican Party absolutely must expand and build bridges into all communities,” Emanuelson added. “I reiterated that same opinion at the same meeting.”

Republicans across the country have pushed for stricter voting regulations, such as voter ID laws, to protect against alleged voter fraud. A federal court last year blocked Texas from implementing its own voter ID law, ruling it would have a

disproportionately negative impact on poor and minority voters.

It's because so many are on welfare, and we know where the spoon is that keeps doling out the goodies (DNC), for votes of course, they haven't done anything for the black community, but they lie well.

It's no surprise there aren't many righties with the cojones to step up and admit what this guy did!

I answered this yesterday when Desh posted it but if you would like me to repeat myself I will.

1. This guy is an idiot for saying it out loud.

2. I've never heard a politician say 'I really hope my opponents base gets out and votes today'. I can't recall hearing a Democrat say "I sure hope those conservative evangelical Christians turn out in large mass for this election".

3. The guy is an idiot for saying it out loud. Even though I know what he meant it comes across horribly.

You guys just keep those stereotypes alive and the Republican party will remain the "old white guy" party for the foreseeable future.

That's all fine and well, but it does underscore both Republican efforts at voter disenfranchisement and the idiocy and percieved racism of the teabaggers.

Saying you hope your opponents base doesn't turn out to vote isn't voter disenfranchisement, it's politics.

He didn't say it was disenfranchisement; just that it reminds everyone of the efforts of Repubs to disenfranchise Democratic voters.

Is that the new spin? Cool. When there is a republican President, I am sure you won't mind when they do it to lefty groups. Will you?

If these future "lefty groups" are as vocal as many tea party groups have been, then no, I won't mind when they "do it" to them too.

Show me the "proof" of how "vocal" these groups were that raised the attention of "low level" workers in Cincinnati. Actual proof please. Not your opinion. Should be easy for you with the Google and all
