inland’s president has congratulated Vladimir Putin on his election victory for the second time in the space of three days.

Thursday’s phone call between Helsinki and Moscow came as U.S. President Donald Trump continued to face criticism at home for complimenting the Russian leader on his re-election.

Sauli Niinisto, who has forged a close working relationship with his Russian counterpart over the years, discussed international developments with Putin, his office said in a statement (Niinisto had already sent Putin a congratulatory message on Monday).

Finland and Russia share a 1,300-kilometer (800-mile) border and have focused on forging pragmatic relations after fighting each other in two wars in the 1940s.

Russia’s contribution is “essential” in bringing clarity to the nerve agent attack in the U.K., Niinisto told Putin.

I have already said I do not begrudge your Orange Hog giving Putin a courtesy congratulation. It is what gets said in private that matters. Although, I suspect in private, Putin has Trump dressed in leather and chains, and performing dog tricks.

What really matters is that your Orange Pig is putting war mongers, like Iraq War Architect, John Bolton in positions of influence.

I wonder if Trump promised Putin he’d be more flexible after re-election.

Damn hot mike, huh lol?

Trump could have been polite and just not said congratulations. It was not an election, but a crowning. When Obama congratulated him, he also asked him to explain about some of the bad shit he was doing. Trump asked him if he wanted a blowjob.

Good point, but the leader of the Republican Party has no moral standing to lecture anyone about fair democratic elections, given that the GOP has made it in an art form to gerrymander, suppress voters, disenfranchise voters, and utilized every undemocratic means at their disposal (including the electoral college) to maintain an undeserved grip on power.

I have some experience with the Russian mentality, and they are not impressed in the least with hypocrites lecturing them on the merits of free, fair, and democratic elections.

In noise' twisted logic this entirely negates Trump's ignobel actions
under the childlike " but they did it too"
response.

Trump was just trying to remain ‘flexible’ with Moscow lol.

It’s a continuation of Obama’s Russian policy. I don’t know why you birds don’t cheer it.

all you need to do is understand Finlands and Russias history to understand why the call was made. An education would have saved the deplorable this ignorant thread.

it's not Finn/Russian history at all - it's to avoid a repeat of hostilties.....and it's not even that..
