Fiscal cliff deal adds $4 trillion to deficits

The fiscal cliff deal passed by the Senate Tuesday morning would increase deficits over the next decade by close to $4 trillion, according to the Congressional Budget Office.

But that's relative to where deficits would otherwise be if Congress were to let all the Bush tax cuts expire and keep much if not all of the other tax hikes and spending cuts under the fiscal cliff in place. Under that scenario, only $2.88 trillion would be added to the debt over the next decade.

What deal? Didn't Cantor and the teabaggers have a tantrum and put the kabosh on the deal?

Hope so. I want the Bush tax cuts to expire since they cause the recession and the financial collapse. Why anyone would want to rep them in place is beyond me

why do you have multiple usernames? can't figure out how to change your username?

What are the douchebags other user names. I need to know how many more to put on IA. I think legion has ore redeeming qualities than dudette who obviously can't rub two nickels together. People who have money don't feel the need to talk about it

Increased payments to Medicaid providers is unfunded. That's a big part of the deficit issue.

The entire gobblement is unfunded. Where do you think deficits come from? Everybody wants the goodies but wants some other suckers money to pay for it. If the poor sucker balks, you and your kind call them greedy.

Has never worked before. No reason to think it will for us.
