FL still SCARCE ON TESTS!! LIST of EACH STATE test per MILLION pop. Where's yours?

Has anyone who needed a test been unable to get one?

Yes, 3 people I KNOW. 2 here. 1 IN IL, MY CUSTOMER. She was too young, 48, and no underlying medical conditions. Her doctor's office told her to stay home and monitor her fever further. She wasn't sick enough--yet.

"Vulnerable populations", just NOT vulnerable enough?

Many turned away during first day of COVID-19 testing at Orange County Convention Center

The drive-through site was set-up to test vulnerable populations in Central Florida, including health-care workers and paramedics.

As the sun rose Wednesday, Central Floridians considered most at risk for coronavirus infection streamed anxiously into an Orange County Convention Center parking lot for a drive-through mouth and nose swabbing to show whether they have the contagious virus.

National Guard combat medics swabbed nearly 250 people by day’s end, but more than 80 others were sent away without testing. Masked nurses who greeted arrivals Wednesday turned away anyone who didn’t have qualifying credentials or cite symptoms required for testing at the state-run site.

Some who passed initial screenings were later asked to leave the campus on International Drive after they were found not to have a fever or respiratory symptoms.

The drive-through site, one of several statewide operated by the Florida Division of Emergency Management, was set-up to test vulnerable populations in Central Florida, including health-care workers and paramedics. Reporters were staged about a football field’s length from the screening area and not permitted to approach vehicles.

A spokeswoman said she was uncertain when the test results would be known, but those who submitted to a test will be notified of the result individually.

Hello Centerleftfl,

Take a look at some of the OTHER 'typical' red states.

As I've said NUMEROUS times here (and to Texans), thank God for TEXAS, otherwise FLORIDA would win the race for ignorance in the RED electorate, stupifyingly mental midgets in the legislature, GUN FREAKS and just plain WEIRD! We jockey back and forth for 'position'.

Why doesn't Florida have enough test kits?

Feds let them down?

DISANTIS goes out on limb, by god. We just got a shelter in place TEXT. But only if you are 65 or older.

So everyone else is FREE to conduct life as usual. Unless of course your EMPLOYER is smarter than your governor.

@BilldeBlasio
Since I’m encouraging New Yorkers to go on with your lives + get out on the town despite Coronavirus, I thought I would offer some suggestions. Here’s the first: thru Thurs 3/5 go see “The Traitor”
@FilmLinc
. If “The Wire” was a true story + set in Italy, it would be this film.

Great advice ..huh?

did she die?......did she even develop any symptoms?.....

from the Thread link. Regarding drive up testing at the Orlando convention center:

so they are turning away asymptomatic unless you say you had contact with covid . But everyone that needs a test gets a test. get it?

PEOPLE all over the country and IN FLORIDA are being told if they are in the H I G H R I S K categories, they CAN go for tests. They go for tests and are being turned away.
GOT IT? It's NOT hard. You can do it!

TAMPA had a line of patients in their cars Wwho showed up for tests, many sent by doctors, clinics, 'doc in box' types. They ran out of the tests and SHUT THE LINE DOWN. Got it?

LISTEN TRUMP ASSHOLES:
INDIVIDUAL DOCS DO NOT HAVE TESTS (UNLESS OF COURSE YOU ARE A CONGRESSIONAL DOC OR IN THE WH). My DOCTOR is sending patients to a secondary location. I will assume from COMMON SENSE that these secondary locations are the ones rationing or RUNNING OUT OF TESTS!

No. it's not "high risk" asymptomatic recommended for testing!
Only those with any symptoms of a respiratory event, or cough or flu like symptoms.

Hopefully your doctor is smarter then you are and is not testing high risk patients without symptoms.
High risk should not leave the house unless they need medical aid

Your doctor will eventually have that opportunity. We'll get that done eventually, or a statistical sample.
quick results tests coming in and accurate drive thru too.

According to the Daytona or Orlando paper at about 830AM when I looked, there were about 4100 cases in FLORIDA, according to several 'counters'. Tonight there are 4950 under review with 4760 confirmed. There are another 160 positive considered 'non-Florida residents', I kinda assume those are the people who came here and were told to quarantine themselves.

So we went from 4100 to 4760 from 830AM to 642PM? Sure seems like a big jump to me but then I'm an alarmist according to the TRUMP apologists on the board.

Current Situation in Florida

.
The Japanese has the right idea they go for targetted testing but then the country isn't full of crazy hysterical old bats like Loony Central.

In the United States, testing capacity has steadily increased; 894,000 tests were completed by Saturday, according to the White House’s coronavirus task force.

At the same time, officials have shifted their messaging. The appeal now: If you have manageable symptoms, you don’t need to be tested and should stay home.

Shortages — not just of test kits and components but also of protective gear for workers to safely take samples — have meant that it is essential to channel those supplies to where they are needed.
