The VFC (Vaccines For Children) Program gives vaccines for free to poor under or non insured kids. Most if not all Public Health department also give out free vaccinations.

A child is eligible for the VFC Program if they are younger than 19 years of age and are one of the following: Uninsured, Medicaid-eligible or Medicaid-enrolled, American Indian or Alaska Native, or Under insured

I remember her buying Big Chief paper tablets, Crayons and pencil by the box full to give to her students.
