I'm not against vaccines for school age children, btw....( and they are readily available...fwiw...the whopping cough vaccine is much different these days than what it used to be...too many boosters needed...and as children get older, it's less likely that they will contract it...)

Very few parents with children in public schools "refuse" to get them vaccinated which are recommended...and of course, it depends on the vaccine...
And most are still required...DTaP: Diphtheria, tetanus, and pertussis (whooping cough).

Yes it was and after we got the vaccines we have now we almost got rid of those diseases and now if they start to stop giving kids the vaccines that help stop them they could come back and some people could die.
