Florida vs. New York

Telling when they leave the source off

Amazing the hard on wingers have for New York and the NorthEast, seems their bitterness of being two steps behind just drives them nuts

Your, its’, narrative of the tax and Cuomo is erroneous, but I have explained the facts too many times now to have to respond to yet another bloggers opinion piece

And if you want to live a life of mediocrity waiting to die in the Gunshine State be my guest, but you better hope States as NY, the third close to second leading contributor to the nation’s GDP, continue to do what they do or States as the Gunshine will have to start looking elsewhere for financial handouts
source@ post 2 because it's a long OP and splitting it is easier to read

it has nothing to do with a "hard on" the fact is NEW YORKERS THEMSELVES ARE FLEEING THEIR HIGH TAX HELL
gawd how can you miss this stuff? it's similar to what's happening out west with californians leaving for Az and Tex

So is his back pedaling.

The post office received 295,103 change of address requests from March 1 through Oct. 31, 2020 according to data obtained from the US Postal Service under a Freedom of Information Act request.

While many city dwellers decamped to Long Island, New Jersey, Westchester and Connecticut, others scattered across the country.

The Postal Service data shows only the destination ZIP codes and counties where more than 10 New Yorkers forwarded their mail — and it points to places like Park City, Utah; Jackson, Wyo., and Brattleboro, Vt.

NY leads nation in population drop, could lose House seat
https://nypost.com/2020/12/22/ny-leads-nation-in-population-drop-could-lose-house-seat/
New York has been losing locals since 2016, but the most recent drop was significantly larger than in years past.

It was also the state with the nation’s biggest population decline, followed by Illinois with a 0.63 percent dip, Hawaii with 0.61 percent and West Virginia with 0.58 percent.

The estimates are based on the 2010 Census, and the official 2020 Census results will be released next year, along with a new legislative map.

The once-a-decade national head count determines how the 435 seats in the House of Representatives are divided among the 50 states based on the population changes recorded.

If the numbers hold, New York could lose one seat, dropping to 26, according to an analysis by William Frey, chief demographer for the Brookings Institution, the New York Times reported.

That would leave the Empire State with fewer seats than Florida for the first time ever, the report said.

New Yorkers Flee for Florida and Texas as Mobility Surges

America’s real-estate meccas aren’t what they used to be.

Far more people moved to Vermont, Idaho, Oregon and South Carolina than left, according to data provided to Bloomberg News by United Van Lines.

On the other hand, the reverse was true for New York and New Jersey, which saw residents moving to Florida, Texas and other Sunbelt states.

The number of people looking to move from New York City during the pandemic nearly doubled from a year earlier, while interest in leaving the San Francisco Bay area jumped 31%, said Eily Cummings, spokeswoman for United Van Lines’ parent company, UniGroup.

Illinois, Connecticut and California, three other states with big urban populations, were also among those losing out.
