Ummm...you didn't actually show what it was she did that broke the law. In order for you to do that, you'd need to cite the statute and provide the evidence that corresponds to when the statute was passed.

Trump didn't write a check. He had his company pretend that Cohen was doing work for the company he wasn't and paid him from company funds.

Ignorance is a defense when the law requires you knowingly and willingly do something.
Ignorance could be a defense for Trump when it comes to whether he committed a felony campaign violation. It might not be a good defense because you have to be ignorant of the action not ignorant of the law.
We have seen no evidence to support Trump doing any such thing. There are certainly many things he actually did that could be considered felonies but I have seen no evidence he offered a quid pro quo to Russia.

Actually there are some very real questions about it's legality.
1. If Trump wrote off the payment to Cohen as legal expenses for his company's taxes he committed tax fraud.
2. If Trump was simply using his own money, by not paying off Cohen immediately, the money became a loan which becomes a campaign violation when it isn't reported.
3. If the checks to Cohen passed through the mail, it could be mail fraud by the Trump organization since the payments were for work that was never performed.
4. There may be NY laws I am unaware of.
I won't worry about whether the AG of the Southern District of NY and the NY AG are investigating possible crime since the charging memo clearly lays out some of the possibilities.

You can deny it all you want. I would bet that the Trump campaign amends it's 2016 filings to list Cohen's payments and agrees to pay a fine. Failure to do so would only be another violation of campaign finance law. We likely won't know about such amendments for a couple of months since this isn't an election year.
