I think it is the 'in your face' bit that we object to. Just near you, at the end of your garden foreign soldiers are erecting a 12 ft wire fence. When you ask why they are doing that British voices tell you that this bit of land is now a British base. A huge runway is built as well as support buildings, accomodation units, underground bunkers. Before long huge transporter planes arrive. You ask what is going on. You are told, 'State secret, ma'am, national security'.
But they are not Americans, these people.
They have funny accents.
They play football and rugby and cricket.
When they come our from behind their wire they look at you as if you are stuck to the bottom of their shoe.
You get together with your neighbours to try to find out more. Some of your neighbours want the British to get out of America. The lake a couple of miles away, where since your children were young, you have fished and sailed is now off limits for security reasons.
The British tell you you should be thankful because they are here to save your fat yank arses.
And all the demonstrations, all the guns, all the private militia, all the letters to your state governor are to no avail. Its going to be a long, long fight to get your country back.
Looks like you might become a sour, wrinkled puss before you are finally boxed and buried.

That's right Low, give yourself excuses to be a sour old puss. After years of watering and nurturing all that animosity, you don't want a good deep seated hate to go to waste. The occupation and destruction of foreign lands perpetrated by British soldiers for numerous generations gives you no room to be such a whiney assed bitch, but since when did that ever stop you.
