FOX falling apart!

You realize that, for every liberal complaint about Fox, there are about a gazillion complaints from conservatives about the "liberal lamestream media?"

I'm sure you must be aware of that.

You're absolutely right Thingy1.....but the point is 'why' thats true.....

Its because the "liberal lamestream media" outlets outnumber the 'fair and balanced' outlets by about 3 or 4 to one....so logically, we should see
3 or 4 more the number of complaints....

It's Jon Stewart, bravs - and that dude is hilarious!

And Fox does need defending. It's a biased network, and it's ludicrous to deny that.

Thanks....guess I don't watch enough of Nickelodeon....lol

And any network that doesn't worship Obama or promote the liberal line is biased to you....I understand that....

And using your logic, Stewart and Maher must be biased in the extreme considering the defense they get.....

No, no - any network that campaigns for the GOP and propogandizes right-wing positions is biased.

LMAO

but any network that campaigns for the dems and propogandizes the left wing positions is not biased in your world duncethingy

no wonder you're too afraid to address my posts, i think you know, deep down, you're full of shite

I don't know which scares me worse. That Fox News has succesfully adopted the Goebbels propaganda method or that there are vast numbers of people who either aren't intelligent enough, lacking in critical thinking skills or just plain don't care that they're being told what they want to hear.

Which is all rather beside the point as I simply exercise my right not to watch them. To those who oppose or disagree with Fox News, why in the world would you watch them?

That's not really correct. Bias is a prejudice or inclination towards a particular point of view. We all have bias's and mainstream news medias have theirs, though the bias's they have aren't particularly "liberal" ones as Fox would phrase it. Fox is a propaganda outlet, mainstream media and cable news may have it's bias's but they are not propaganda (maybe excepting MSNBC).

What makes a propaganda media outlet, like Fox, different from the mainstream news media is that they use psychological manipulation of information to achieve a desired result.

Now Fox is hardly unique there. Both political parties and the Government have used and manipulated the main stream media, sometimes cooperatively, to communicate propaganda but the mainstream news media, in general, does not normally try to achieve a specific reslut, which is really Fox News biggest lie and the one their devotees will most passionatly defend.

Where Fox has been unique is that they have made it a very profitable business. They sell their right wing brand of propaganda to monied interest groups interested in swaying the public to support their political/socio-economic agenda. There's a certain amount of cynicism with Fox cause, in grand American tradition, they are only going where the money is. If the money was coming from the political left to buy their services than Fox would certainly be singing the praises of Barry Obama and Chairman Mao and would be demonizing the Captains of Industry but that's not where the money is coming from, is it?

To emphasize my point, if anyone has seen a bit of mellowing of Fox News lately it's probably because the monied interest are distancing them selves from the right wing loonies and their race baiting politics cause they've probably understand a little more clearly now that their economic hegemony is dependent upon not alienating these growing demographics, particularly in urban areas. Fox has all ready parted ways with a couple of loonies, I would'nt be surprized to see Sean Hannity start singing a more moderate tune or see him also part ways with Fox. Though if that happens I'll have to get the information second had cause I have no intentions of watching Fox News.

Morons need a network, fox has that uneducated demographic nailed!
Morons do have a network of their own. It's called CNN. CNN was once the great innovator of news reporting. They invented the 24 hour news cycle. They created the single biggest era of government transparency in human history.......and then flushed it all down the shit hole when they sold it to Time/Warner. Now it's a network for morons. So when it comes to cable news you have two major choices. News for morons with a 6th grade reading level (CNN) and Right Wing Propaganda for the country bumpkins and trailer trash crowd (Fox News).

Bullshit
CNN is news
Fox is propaganda
Oh I agree. I didn't say CNN wasn't news. I said they were news for those with 6th grade level reading skills. Fox is unquestionably propaganda. I just think that CNN, as a news network, is a pale shadow of it's former self when it was ran by Ted Turner. Time/Warner has dummified CNN.

CNN isn't so bad. It depends on which hour you're watching.

The lefty equivalent of Fox is MSNBC. The latter is biased, but they're not as shameless in their propoganda as Fox - especially during campaigns. Fox really makes no bones about what they're doing.

Well there is no greater form of flattery than immitation and I think that MSNBC was designed, along Fox News lines, to be an echo chamber for the left. It's pretty difficult in my mind not to consider them propaganda too. Ergo.....I don't watch MSNBC either.

Personally, my favorite news program, because they take a few daily news topics and cover them in substantial detail, is The News Hour on PBS. I not only enjoy their objectivity I love how when you say that it drives wingnuts, that are so used to their echo chamber, insane!

You went to Ohio state, most things are difficult for you.
LOL, No....I worked at Ohio State.....I didn't attend college there. Though I might as well have. My undergraduate alma matter, Wright State, is part of The Ohio State University System and essentially all the member institutions have the same accredidation standards. Which, I might point out are superior to Louisianna State academic standards.....but you went to one of those private Bead Jiggling schools down there, didn't you?
